Wizards of Waverly Place star reunites with Alex Russo’s werewolf boyfriend on set of sequel filming

David Henrie and Gregg Sulkin reunite on the set of Wizards beyond Waverly Place. Premiered on the Disney Channel in 2007, Wizards of Waverly Place Starring Selena Gomez as Alex, Henry as Justin, and Jake T. Austin as Max, three magical siblings from the Russo family who compete to be the next family wizard. The world of the show is set to return with sequel series Wizards beyond Waverly PlaceWhich sees Justin embrace the non-wizard life as father to Milo (Max Mateenko) before Alex introduces him to Billy (Janice Leanne Brown), a wizard looking to be Justin’s apprentice.

Henry Now takes to Instagram to share a new photo of the Wizards beyond Waverly Place Set in which he poses with Sulkin, who memorably played Mason Graybeck Wizards of Waverly Place. Greybeck appeared in a number of episodes of the original Disney Channel showServing primarily as Alex’s boyfriend. “Guess who visited settttttttt ? The one and only [Gregg Sulkin],“Henry writes in his caption. Check out the image below:

Will Mason Graybeck return?

Henrie’s photo and accompanying caption suggest that Sulkin really is just visiting to set up, meaning the hoping for a Mason cameo in Wizards beyond Waverly Place May be in for disappointment. It’s possible that Sulkin and Henry have remained close since the original show ended and that the former was just in the area while filming was taking place. The lack of a Mason cameo would also make sense since Alex is expected to serve only as a guest star in the pilot episode of the sequel show, and is not a main character.

That does not mean, however, that other original Wizards of Waverly Place Cast members will not appear in the new show. Maria Canals-Barrera is expected to reprise her role as Theresa Russo, Justin’s mother, as is David DeLuise as Jerry Russo, Justin’s father. Both are expected to have a guest star capacity in the pilot, and it is likely that the rest of the episodes in season 1 will have some surprise returns for audiences. Characters like Harper (Jennifer Stone) and Zeke (Dan Benson), for example, could potentially appear.

Our take on a potential Mason return in Wizards Beyond Waverly Place

How Mason and Alex could participate in the sequel show

Alex has a variety of love interests throughout Wizards of Waverly PlaceBut her dynamic with Mason is arguably the most compelling, and it’s the relationship that was the one that stuck, as revealed in the finale. Although Mason may not appear in the sequel show, it is possible that the series will confirm whether he and Alex remain together all these years later.

If Alex and Mason are still together in the world of the show, that opens up the potential for storylines involving the pair in later seasons of Wizards beyond Waverly Place. That said, the show, while Henrie as Justin, is very much about a new generation of characters, so any appearances in that regard will likely just be quick cameos.
