The Bachelorette Season 21 producers had an incredible time in the casting process for Jenn Tran’s season, but I’m shocked that Devin Strader was cast on the series at all because of his serious legal issues. While Jen, who was introduced during The bachelor Season 28 As one of the contestants hoping to win the heart of Joey Graziadei, has owned her independence after the show, her heartbreak was very real. Jen’s time as the lead of The Bachelorette Season 21 was hard for viewers to get through, especially at the end of the season, when she happily proposed to Devin.
While Jenn’s journey on the show was met with a happy ending, it was clear that there were issues early on in her time promoting the show. Jenn and Devin’s relationship was working at first, but quickly became tricky for the long-distance couple, and when they started to fight, Devin threw in the towel. Breaking up with Jenn after just a few months, the couple ended on a sour note and Jenn confronted Devin for his behavior during The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose. Even with the split confirmed, Bachelor Folk were shocked to learn more about Devin’s story.
Devin Strader was Jen’s final rose recipient
Jen proposed to Devin
throughout The Bachelorette Season 21, it was clear that Jen had a few front-runners that she was deeply interested in. Devin was one of the front-runners early on, however Bachelor Felker was not interested in rooting with him. While Devin seemed to enjoy Jenn’s company, his relationship with her didn’t feel as genuine as others, and he fit the “villain” mold early in the season. Despite bringing the guys’ drama to Jen often, Devin made it to the end of the season And found herself Jenn’s latest rose recipient. The Bachelorette Lead proposed during the final episode of the show.
Devin was arrested for trespassing in 2017
A restraining order against Devin was discovered
Although Devin is certainly watted to some degree by Bachelorette Producers during his casting phase, it was not shared with the public that Devin had several serious criminal charges in the last decade. Devin’s ex-girlfriend alleged that he burglarized her homeAnd finally filed a restraining order against The Bachelorette Star. While Devin seemed to violate the temporary restraining order several times early on, his ex-girlfriend continued to call the cops on him and ultimately, Devin was charged with trespassing.

After Devin was charged, He pleaded guilty and accepted the consequences of his actions. The stipulations surrounding his release included staying away from the victim, paying several fines, and completing community service among a few other things. While Devin seemed to understand that he had made a mistake, his background with such a glaring stain should have clued him in The Bachelorette Producers in his character and pushed them not to cast him.
Devin being cast shows producers don’t care about Jen
He could have been dangerous
Although Devin’s legal situation has not progressed in his life in over 5 years, there is very little chance that The Bachelorette Producers are not aware of the restraining order and trespassing charges. Devin’s background wasn’t discussed on the show, meaning Jenn probably didn’t know about the charges either. I believe it is irresponsible for The Bachelorette Producers to have cast Devin at all, knowing he did something so extreme with an ex that broke things off. Devin in the series simply proves that The show’s producers don’t care much about their leads, and instead focus on making good television.
