Additionally, Ronan is long overdue for some recognition from the Academy, though Flash Is not her only film in the running. Ronan has been touted as a potential 2025 Best Actress nominee since her film The outrun Debuted earlier this year at Sundance. It remains to be seen what role may finally give her a name, if any, however Flash Certainly has the pedigree (and the studio behind it) to push for a big awards game.
Our take on the flash trailer
McQueen & Ronan are a dream team
From the start of the clip, it’s clear that McQueen is in his element. While the director’s previous work served on a more intimate scale, his vision translated well to the epic stage that is World War II. However, it is clear that McQueen is not abandoning the intimate drama for blockbuster spectacle.
The story between Rita and George at the center of the film is clearly its heartbeat and will serve as the emotional passage of the film. It’s a classic story – loved ones separated, looking for each other in difficult circumstances – but it’s clear that McQueen’s visuals combined with what is sure to be a compelling performance from Ronan will ensure Flash is not to be missed.
