The penguin was a huge hit for HBO and DC, and the series could serve as the first of many Batman spinoffs to come, with a roster of characters who appeared in Matt Reeves’ first Batman film being able to lead a TV show. Robert Pattinson has become one of the most popular live-action Batman actors. The star will return for at least two more Batman films to complete Matt Reeves’ plans Batman trilogy. Interestingly, the Dark Knight was nowhere to be found BatmanThe first spin-off seriesHBO The penguin.
While Batman’s absence was a major topic of discussion among fans as Gotham City faced a gang war without Batman to stop it, The penguin didn’t need Bruce Wayne to be good. With a dark story, complex characters, shocking twists, serious deaths and more, The penguin has become one of DC’s best live-action TV shows. Batman franchise creator Matt Reeves has already revealed that there are plans to bring more spinoffs to life beyond Pattinson’s Batman films, and there are great candidates in the pipeline. Batman to lead future DC projects.
The Riddler
Played by Paul Dano in The Batman
The Riddler was the main villain of Batman. As such, he is the least likely character to receive a spinoff series on this list. However, that’s not to say there isn’t potential for a solo project starring Paul Dano’s Batman villain. There are actually two very different ways that Matt Reeves could decide to go about telling a possible Riddler story. A prequel series set before the events of Batman could be one of them, and the perfect source material for the show already exists.
Paul Dano wrote a graphic novel focused on his character’s history, “The Riddler: Year One.” The comics tell the story of how Edward Nashton’s life led him to become the Riddler. The gritty story of Gotham crime and the birth of a villain fits the mold that made The Penguin a success. If Reeves chose not to make a prequel to The Batman, Dano’s Riddler could return in a spin-off series that focuses on how the Riddler is faring in Arkham. The penguin showed how horrible the institution is for its patients, and Riddler could descend into madness.
Jim Gordon
Played by Jeffrey Wright in The Batman
Jim Gordon is one of the most important characters in Batman mythology. Only in this can you see the potential it has. A previous TV series showed that this could turn into a successful project, as Ben McKenzie’s younger version of Jim Gordon was the main character in Gothamwhich ran for five seasons and featured the stories of several important Batman characters. A Gordon-focused TV series could also serve as the perfect way for Matt Reeves to revive some of his canceled movie plans. Batman spin off.
ONE Batman A spinoff focusing on Jeffrey Wright’s Jim Gordon would be the perfect way to tell a story about corruption in the GCPD.
Before The penguin was released, a Gotham PD series was in development for some time until it was scrapped. Well, one Batman A spinoff focusing on Jeffrey Wright’s Jim Gordon would be the perfect way to tell a story about corruption in the GCPD. This story would be close to The penguinThe style is like a crime drama, which could make Jim Gordon’s series another success for DC and HBO. After the Riddler flooded Gotham Batmanfinal, a Jim Gordon spinoff could explore what a “No Man’s Land” version of Gotham might look like for the GCPD.
Catwoman
Played by Zoë Kravitz in The Batman
Another major Batman character who could lead her own spin-off series is Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman. Zoë Kravitz’s version of the character was one of the most popular aspects of Batmanand her chemistry with Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne ensures she’ll be back for more in a Batman movie sequel or two. Whether it’s the character’s next appearance or comes after Catwoman’s potential role in Batman – Part IISelina Kyle’s story would be perfect for a spinoff series, and The penguin already created an emotional story for her.

The penguinCristin Milioti’s ending saw Cristin Milioti’s Sofia Falcone sent to Arkham again. However, the character receives a Selina Kyle, his half-sisterand smiles in what appears to be a sign of hope. This could be explored in a Catwoman spin-off series.
Sofia Falcone was The penguinemerging character, then bringing her back a new Batman spinoff that sees Catwoman takes her sister out of Arkham and exploring them to get to know each other would be interesting. If Selina is not Batman – Part IIA Catwoman series could follow what she’s up to after leaving Gotham and set up her return in the third film.
The Joker
Played by Barry Keoghan in The Batman
Finally, the Joker, Batman’s greatest villain, is the best possible candidate to star in a new Batman derived series. The character barely appeared in the first film. Barry Keoghan’s Joker talks to Paul Dano’s Riddler at the end of Batmanteasing that the two characters could team up in a future story. Although this could very well end up being one of the announced Batman films in Robert Pattinson’s trilogy, a Joker spin-off series could also be the way forward, telling the story of the duo in Arkham and how they go out to fight Batman.
Recently, a new Batman There were rumors that a Joker-focused spinoff series was in development. According to rumor, the project would be defined between Batman – Part II and Pattinson’s third Batman film. The Joker series was also created by a small appearance by Keoghan’s Joker in Batman – Part II. While the idea was exciting, DC Studios co-CEO james gunn debunked the Joker spinoff series rumor. Gunn revealed that no Joker series is currently in discussion. However, there is nothing stopping the project from happening in the future.
Joaquin Phoenix’s first Joker film showed that an origin story for the character could be a hit with fans. BatmanJoker’s deleted scene showed that Barry Keoghan’s Joker and Robert Pattinson’s Batman already have some kind of relationship in Batmanworld. A Joker series could reveal the first meeting between the characters and how the Clown Prince of Crime ended up in Arkham Asylum. Whether as a prequel or continuing the character’s story after his brief Batman appearance, a great villain like the Joker is full of potential to lead the next Batman derived series.
