Tulsa King Star Garrett Hedlund reveals how Mitch will play a much bigger role in season 2. Recently returning to Paramount+, season 2 of the hit crime drama picks up after the shocking Tulsa King Season 1 finale that Sylvester Stallone’s Dwight is arrested during the opening of the new casino he co-owns with Mitch. Talk to Screen Rant Following Tulsa King The last premiere of season 2, Hedlund explained as Dwight’s business partner Mitch plays a much more significant role in determining the direction of his criminal empire. While much of season 1 focused on Dwight establishing his presence in Tulsa, season 2 picks up after his empire is up and running. With their trust in one another now firmly established, Hedlund says Mitch has a much bigger part in the unfolding drama. Check out his comments below:

Yes, this year was a little different. I mean, in a good way. Last season, Mitch and Dwight’s characters had conversations and involvement together that were very singular, very manual. They are in the bar with an end-of-day discussion, or trying to configure how they will go about the next mission and what their obstacles are going to be and how to overcome them.

For this, Mitch is much more involved because he is a much bigger part of the empire. Now that the empire is established, he is a part of it; He is responsible for it. And so now it’s much more of an all-for-one, one-for-all kind of journey for all of them, which I think is enjoyable to watch. They are all in it together. In the first season, they were trying to figure out if they could still trust everyone.

As an ex-insured, Mitch’s criminal history provided an instant bond with Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi during Tulsa King Season 1. Essentially exiled from New York and learning to set up operations in a city that was vastly alien from the world he once knew, Dwight’s dealings with Mitch was the first truly familiar ground he was able to establish In his new town.

However, as the show progressed, Dwight was also able to attract a few more familiar faces to his rag-tag mafia family. After convincing former Invernessi soldier Armand (Max Casella) to join his cause, he eventually lures his fellow New York-based capo, Dennis “Goody” Carangi (Chris Caldovino) away from his former post.

With Dwight forced to settle in Oklahoma with little to no help from his original crime family, the crew he put together in season 1 was a vast departure from the mafia crew he once helped lead in New York. However, despite their flaws and unconventional behavior, Dwight’s new crime family looks set to become a powerful force in his new hometown.

However, the unlikely group of aspiring and seasoned criminals that comprise Dwight’s new Manfredi family may now have to contend with the cracks that naturally arise when people start jockeying for position over Tulsa King Season 2.
