Warning! Spoilers ahead for Frasier season 2.
The Fraser Season 2 premiere finally fixes his most problematic relationship, but it makes his Good luck Plot hole worse in the process. Coming back to Boston, there was already an expectation that the Fraser Revival would dry up in Frasier Crane’s history with the town. Before he spent more than a decade back home in Seattle to join his family, he was based in Beantown. It was where he connected with Lilith and had Freddy. Despite this, the first 10 episodes of the Fraser Revival hardly revisits his time in Good luck. It hasn’t even name-dropped Sam Malone’s pub yet.
through the Fraser Season 1 finale, Grammer’s character is able to fully familiarize himself with the city. He has a solid job as a visiting lecturer at Harvard and is continuously repairing his relationship with Freddie. Surprisingly, the Paramount+ revival has all of this without leaning into nostalgia, just like what other revivals do. While this is great for his debut year, there is an expectation that sometime in the near future, the New Fraser will confirm Good luck. For now, though, it’s prioritizing its own story, with its latest relationship repair further breaking the established canon.
