Is Rings of Power Season 2 Confirming an Original Character’s Tragic Death?

Warning: Spoilers ahead for The Rings of Power Season 2, Episode 6.With one seemingly innocent scene, The rings of power Could have prepared the board for an original character’s death. Take his cues from The Lord of the Rings itself, Amazon’s The rings of power Does not resort to frequent killing of characters, and this is partly what Valandil’s killing in The rings of power Season 2 Episode 5 was so shocking. With Adar’s army, however, Eragon bears even more victims The rings of powers cast are highly likely before the season is over.

One of the casualties could be Arrondir, according to a fleeting clue from The rings of power Season 2, Episode 6. Played by Ismael Cruz Córdova, Arondir is a sylvan elf created entirely for Amazon’s TV show. After playing a significant role in The rings of power Season 1’s ending, the heartbroken hero has found his status somewhat diminished in Season 2 thus far. The good news is that Arondir is set for a much larger part in The rings of power Season 2’s finale. The bad news is that his death may happen as a direct result of the larger story.

The Rings of Power Season 2 sets up the potential death of Arondir

Are Arondir’s brooding days nearly over?

Arondir hold the image of Eregion in the rings of power.

A short scene in The rings of power Season 2, episode 6 shows Arondir accidentally killing a trio of orcs while strolling through the forest. Picking over their corpses for things, he conveniently happens across a piece of cloth with the image of Eregion. It now seems that Arondir will connect the dots, investigate Adar plans to attack Celebrimbor’s settlement, and make his way there. to give help. With Elrond, Galadriel, Adar, Sauron and Celebrimbor all centered on Eregion for The rings of power Season 2’s final battle, it seems only natural that Arondir would be thrown into the fray, especially when such a prestigious elven stronghold is on the line.

The problem for Arondir is that the Siege of Eregion, as it occurs in Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings Timeline, does not leave many survivors. The battle ends with Eregion permanently destroyed and Sauron’s forces victorious, which naturally means that many of the elves fighting to defend the kingdom end up overwhelmed by their orcish enemies, including Celebrimbor himself. Arondir’s springy combat style will no doubt prove a huge boost to Eregion’s defenses, but with the outcome already set in stone, his chances of survival aren’t high.

Arondir’s death would push Theo further into becoming a Nazgul

Arondir Dieing would bring a major rings of power theory closer to reality

Another convincing argument that Arondir will die can be found in his breadth The rings of power Arc alongside Bronwyn and Theo. in The rings of power Season 1, Arondir’s story revolved almost entirely around his romance with Bronwyn, but since actor Nazanin Boniadi does not return for The rings of power Season 2, Arondir has felt a little directionless. Aside from some sweet moments with Isildur and Theo, as well as a quick brush with the Ents, Arondir’s impact on The rings of power Season 2 has, sadly, been limitedAnd this puts him in even greater danger of dying during the siege of Eregion.

Arondir would surely recognize that the Nine Rings were plagued with Sauron’s influence, and he would strongly advise Theo against wearing one.

More importantly, Arondir’s death would ignite the fires of a long-gestating story. Since first published in The rings of powerTheories have suggested that Theo could become a Nazgul, and the idea now looks more probable after, earlier in season 2, Arondir confirmed the younger as the “Lord of Pelargir“After the death of Bronwyn. Losing both his mother and his surrogate father may give Theo the push he needs to accept the promise of power from Annatar. Grew by grief, brimming with the folly of youth, and desperate to protect the survivors of the Southlands, Sauron would see Theo as an obvious candidate for one of the Nine.

If Arondir will not die in The rings of power Season 2, the story gets much tougher. The elf would surely recognize, or maybe even hear through Galadriel, that the nine rings are plagued with Sauron’s influence, and he would strongly advise Theo against wearing one. have developed a newfound respect for each other in The rings of power Season 2, Theo would probably heed this warning.

Why Arondir’s future in the Rings of Power may be brighter than it seems

Arondir may have had a hand in setting up The Lord of the Rings

Elrond (Robert Aramaio) in battle in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2

There is a much rosier path that Arondir could take yet The rings of powers siege of the region. One of the first survivors of the battle is Elrond, who leads an evacuation of Celebrimbor’s doomed province when defeat is certain. Elrond takes his small band of refugees to an unoccupied plot of mountainous landAnd it is here that he establishes Rivendell, one of the elves’ most notable locations throughout the Third Age.

If Arondir manages to squeeze out the Siege of Eregion without any fatal wounds, he may be tempted to join the ranks of Elrond and play his part in the foundation of Rivendell, carving out a legacy that will last forever. The Lord of the Rings. Not only would this give Arondir a sharper focus in future seasons of The rings of powerHe would be taken far away from Theo. Arondir would be unable to protect the young from Sauron’s advances, and Theo may yet become the Ringwraith he is seemingly destined to be.
