The future of the After Movie franchise

There are two upcoming films in the After franchise

2024 was the first year since the launch of After in 2019 that didn’t see a new film added to the franchise. However, this does not mean that there are no new After planned films. There are currently two new installments after 2023 After all, and both should take the story in new directions, rather than focusing on Hardin and Tessa’s relationship and the multi-film romance that has been the focus of every film in the series thus far.

The next After the film is scheduled to be released in 2025 and is titled Before. Rather than being a continuation of After everything, before instead, it will be a prequel (as suggested by its rather clever title). Just like the rest of the franchise, Before it will also focus on one of Anna Todd’s books, in this case the 2015 novel of the same name.

Castille Landon will once again take on the role of director and revealed that the next film will be a kind of coming of age for the franchise. Instead of focusing on romance, Before instead, it will center on a younger Hardin with Tessa nowhere to be seen. The plot of Before will focus on Hardin’s family life and the trauma he deals with before 2019 After. As the character will be younger, Fiennes Tiffin will not reprise his role.

The second new film confirmed in After The series doesn’t have a title yet, but it will take place after the events of After all. Ias before, the nameless After all the sequence will be a break with the previously established plot. Although Tessa and Hardin will be present, they will not be central to the plot, as the story will focus on their children Emma and Auden, as well as their cousin Addy. Very little has been revealed about this next chapter of the After franchise, except it will be an original story and not based on an existing Anna Todd novel.
