After some back and forth earlier this week, Shonen Jump has finally confirmed that One pieceof the manga is actually going on hiatusand the official statement sparked widespread concern about Oda’s health. Fans of One piece were recently caught off guard when Manga Plus unexpectedly changed the release date of the next chapter, but thankfully, the Shonen Jump editorial team finally came out and cleared up the confusion, confirming the two-week gap.

A post on X by bank bench translated an official statement from the Shonen Jump Editorial Department that confirms One piece will go in a sudden two-week break until December 1, 2024, resuming in the next issue of Shonen Jump. The message states that the hiatus is due to Eiichiro Oda’s “poor physical health.”

The news of Oda’s poor health has caused a lot of concern among fans, given how sudden and unexpected the breakup was, so much so that Shonen Jump was unable to make the correction in time for the next edition’s index.
