What this means for CBS in 2025

Expect business as usual

Madeline Kingston looking shocked and scared in Matlock

Barring unscripted shows, award ceremonies, and sporting events, these titles make up the majority of CBS’ back catalog and continue to bring success. The decision to renew a program is based on several factors, and CBS clearly has a lot of faith in the return of franchise power. Properties like NCIS, FBIand The equalizer are all well established and have been boosting CBS’s ratings for years.

In many ways, the schedule maintains the same timeslots that these programs already enjoyed, demonstrating the strength of CBS programming and your desire to keep things stable. 2025 will be a year much like the one viewers have already enjoyed. Although long-term successes such as SCAM and FBI can maintain their strong performance, newer programs like Matlock and Tracker season 2 can continue to build on its typical points to see if they can evolve into long-term successes. CBS should enjoy another year of strong ratings.

Our take on CBS’ near future

Exciting times are ahead

Ray and Nina chase a gun-toting suspect on FBI Most Wanted

With the return of 14 hit shows, exciting times lie ahead for CBS. The network has a strong program platform that it can rely on to move toward a successful future. I think that all 14 titles could enjoy long-term success on the network and will be regular features on the CBS calendar for a long time to come. As an ever-evolving network, having a diverse slate of programming to experience is one of the things that has kept CBS so much success for so many years.
