Upon Jon’s arrival on Themyscira, the young Kryptonian launches an aerial assault on the island, wreaking havoc on its inhabitants and guests. Nightwing quickly intervenes, drawing Jon’s attention by challenging his friend-turned-boy to come down and fight face to face. However, it soon becomes clear that Dick has no intention of actually fighting Jon. The moment the Kryptonian lands, he is instantly neutralized by the magic of the island. Nightwing explains that the trap, set by himself, Mister Terrific, and Artemis of Bana-Mighdall, was triggered the second Jon set foot on Themyscira uninvited. The island’s magic responded by channeling all its power to subdue him.

Themyscira’s success in subduing Jon Kent proves that the island’s magic is more than capable of taking down a Kryptonian.
