Juliette faces several serious challenges and defies many odds before her story in Hugh Howey’s film. Silo the books finally come to a natural conclusion. As seen in Silo In Season 1, Juliette is initially a resident of one of the lower levels of the central underground bunker. However, as fate would have it, she was given the opportunity to become the new sheriff of Silo 18 after Holston’s shocking death in the first few episodes of Silo’s first season. Although Juliette is initially apprehensive about taking on the role, she agrees after seeing it as an opportunity to uncover the truth about George Wilkins’ murder.

In what follows, Juliette’s search for answers makes her a threat to those hell-bent on keeping the history and secrets of Silo 18. She breaks many laws and defies many rules before revealing the secrets surrounding how she and other citizens were being deceived. In Silo In the final moments of Season 1, she is punished and sent to clean up by Bernard. However, her plan backfires when she survives and ventures further into the desert to uncover more secrets. Silo Season 1 ends the first arc of his journey, but also paves the way for the beginning of a new one.

Meeting Solo marks the beginning of a new arc for Juliette

In the second half of Hugh Howey’s first film Silo book, ThereJuliette ventures further from Silo-18 after being sent for cleaning. Realizing that the heat tape on her suit would not be able to protect her for long, Juliette heads to another neighboring Silo. That’s when she meets Solo, the last survivor of an uprising that killed all the other residents. After sharing everything she knows about the world they live in, Solo helps her establish communication with Silo 18. With that, Juliette gets in touch with Lukas, who tells her everything about the consequences of her leaving Silo 18.

While working as Bernard’s shadow, Lukas also exposes IT’s secrets to Juliette, but Bernard soon discovers his betrayal. Therefore, he sends him to clean up. Realizing that Bernard’s actions are not justified, Sheriff Peter Billings steps forward and places Bernard in the Silo’s airlock. Through a radio, Bernard tries to justify his actions to Juliette by saying that every time a rebellion is successful in a Silo, it is put down by the authorities of Silo 1, who exterminate all citizens by releasing poisonous gas.

…while Lukas leads IT, Juliette takes over as the new mayor of Silo 18 after all the citizens unanimously elect her as their new leader.

Billings understands where Bernard is coming from, but refuses to forgive him for his heinous acts against the citizens of the Silo. As a result, he sends him to clean up. Juliette assumes that Lukas is being sent away and tries to save Bernard. However, Bernard voluntarily remains in the airlock and burns to death when the purifying fire is released. As a result, while Lukas leads IT, Juliette takes over as the new mayor of Silo 18 after all citizens unanimously elected her as their new leader. This marks the end of Hugh Howey’s first book Silo trilogy.

Hugh Howey’s second book Silo series, titled Changeplays out more like a spinoff/prequel that goes through the origins of the silos and reveals what happened to the outside world. It features a character named Donald Keene, recruited by Senator Paul Thurman in 2049 as one of the key figures behind the World Order’s Operation Fifty (WOOL). Thurman initially told Keene that Operation Fifty aimed to preserve humanity from events that could lead to the extinction of the species. However, the truth behind Thurman’s dark plan comes to light much later, leading Keene to help Juliette and other survivors.

Juliette decides to save her people before it’s too late

Donald Keene discovers that Thurman and Erskine instigated the nuclear disasters that made the outside world uninhabitable. According to Erskine, terrorists and hostile nations were taking control of the self-replicating nanorobots, which were designed exclusively to advance medical science in a positive direction. Due to its growing threat, Operation Fifty was introduced as a reset event this would eliminate all the humans before the nanobots do. Donald also discovers that the citizens of only one Silo will be released into the real world, while the others will be exterminated.

Juliette appears briefly in the second book, but becomes the main character again in the third, titled Dust. In the last book, Donald shares everything he knows with Juliette and Lukas before his health begins to fail. Realizing how the rebellion at Silo 18 puts the citizens in danger, Juliette plans an escape for her people through a tunnel that connects Silo 18 to Silo 17. However, before she can successfully carry out the evacuation, Thurman takes control. of Silo 1 and orders Termination of Silo 18. As a result, Juliette is only able to save about 200 citizens of Silo 18.

While Donald sets out to destroy Silo 1 to end Thurman’s tyranny, Juliette discovers that all of the lower levels of the silos have a tunneling machine that can take them to a safe place called the “Seed”. However, they are unable to use the Silo 17 machine because it requires much more fuel than they have. Therefore, Juliette takes on the responsibility of leading her people to “Seed”. To everyone’s surprise, after traveling some distance on the surface, they emerge from a patch of dust and discover that the outside world is no longer uninhabitable.

Juliette and the survivors realize that the silos are surrounded by toxic dust, but the rest of the world has all the resources it needs to sustain itself. Near the end of Hugh Howey DustJuliette and the survivors finally reach “Seed,” where they find a bunker that houses all the essential items they need to survive and rebuild civilization. With this, the Silo the trilogy ends when Juliette saves the day, stopping Thurman’s evil operation and protecting her people.
