After seeing The Lion King musical, I need this year’s movie. Mufasa a film that included one of the best songs. As a Disney fan with a special love for Lion KingI can’t wait for Mufasa: The Lion King to come out in December. Audiences are understandably skeptical of Disney live-action films, but there are plenty of reasons to be excited. Mufasa: The Lion King. First, the film is not an adaptation of an existing story, but screenwriter Jeff Nathanson expands on the story in a new way. Secondly, the film is a musical and will feature brand new songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Following the success of Miranda’s previous Disney soundtracks such as Encanto And MoanaI’m confident that the Mufasa movie will be in good hands. The songs will undoubtedly resonate with the audience. However, as much as I’m focused on the new music, I hope the film uses the best song from the Broadway version of The Lion King.
“He Lives in You” is synonymous with the Lion King franchise to me.
Lebo M’s song appears many times in the franchise
Although “He Lives in You” does not appear in the original. Lion King When it comes to the franchise, this song is the first one I think of, with Elton John’s “Circle of Life” close behind. The song Lebo M was first recorded for Rhythm of the Pride Lands A CD that became a continuation of the soundtrack to the Disney animated film. Lion King. Upon its release on the 1995 album, the song became part of the franchise.
Most of the other songs only appear in one or two shows. However, “He Lives in You” appears four times in the franchise. – during the sequel, during the live-action credits, and twice during the Broadway musical. The song is so iconic that it was included in the television special Disney’s Broadway Hits at the Royal Albert Hall, which is notable because of the eighteen songs on that list, only three were chosen. Lion King Broadway musical. They chose “He Lives in You” over options like “Hakuna Matata” or “Circle of Life.” The song also appears on the collection. Lion King Collection.

I would be incredibly sad not to hear this song in Mufasa: The Lion King. Without this, the film would look unfinished. What’s more, the film, part sequel and part prequel, doesn’t have to worry about feeling redundant because “He Lives in You” follows the ongoing theme that ancestors are always watching over their descendants.
The live-action Lion King movie doesn’t use this song as well as the musical
Stuck in the credits of a 2019 film is “He Lives with You”
Despite being the best song from the franchise, the live-action film of 2019 Lion King put the song in the credits. Please don’t misunderstand; I love the Xhosa version of Lebo M.’s song. Music is powerful no matter what language the performer sings it in. However, the track had significantly less impact because the creative team behind it It Lives in You is stuck in a part of the film that unfortunately many people don’t watch.
In the musical version Lion KingThe song is sung to teach Simba about the Great Kings of the Past. It is later performed again when Rafiki helps him connect with his father’s spirit. The context in both of these scenes makes the music and lyrics more impactful. Live action Lion King the film would have been a better reflection of the musical. The only positive aspect of their failure is the fact that Mufasa: The Lion King may solve the problem.
How “He Lives in You” Can Fit into Mufasa: The Lion King
‘He Lives In You’ Could Help Explain Mufasa’s New Backstory
If Mufasa: The Lion King The team wants to include an iconic song, there are two main options. First, in a prequel film, the story could use the first version that appears in the musical called They Live in You. This version of the song is not about Mufasa living in Simba. Instead, after the incident at the elephant graveyard, Mufasa sings it to Simba to teach him about the Great Kings of the Past that live within everyone. The song serves as a reminder that Simba will never be alone, no matter what.
Since the pride of lions took Mufasa after he was abandoned, they could sing him this song to teach him about the ancestors.
As the pride of lions takes in the orphan Mufasa, they could sing this song to him to tell him about their ancestors. In fact, this is how the song first appears in a Broadway musical. The only difference will be that Mufasa hears “They live in you” instead of Simba. Using the song in this way would also help explain why Mufasa is so connected to royal ancestors in the animated film, if he wasn’t born with a drop of royal blood.
Alternatively, Mufasa: The Lion King could reflect The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride playing the song when Kiara is introduced everyone in the kingdom. In this version, the “he” in the song refers to Mufasa, who watches over his children and grandson from the sky. There’s no guarantee that a Mufasa movie will include this scene; however, it is possible based on the premise. The prequel’s plot is based on Rafiki telling Kiara the story of Mufasa and Taka (aka Scar).

Although I prefer the first option, the second option is suitable for people who have not seen the Broadway musical. but are familiar with the direct-to-VHS sequel. Since the sequel is more accessible, Mufasa: The Lion King mirror image Lion King II it would be more profitable. Still, either option would feel like a fitting tribute to the lesser-known parts of the franchise.
