Surprise Pokémon Sleep x Dua Lipa Collab Wasn’t on Fans’ 2024 Bingo Card

The Pokémon Company released a surprise collaboration with Grammy-winning artist Dua Lipa to promote Pokemon Sleep. Today, the official Pokémon The YouTube channel released a 40-second short featuring Dua Lipa’s “Illusion” to help showcase the various sleep styles found on the Pokemon Sleep lifestyle app.

The commercial shows several people getting some much-needed sleep while comparing them to the various ways Pokémon sleep in the game. Although Dua Lipa does not appear in the commercial the application is official Pokémon Social media accounts are promoting this as an official collaboration between the artist and The Pokémon Company.

Pokemon Sleep was released just over a year ago, but has provided players with a consistent stream of new content. In addition to monthly events focused on increasing sleep points, the app also added several new Pokémon and new areas for players to explore.

While a Dua Lipa collaboration with Pokemon Sleep seems random, The Pokémon Company has worked with several high-profile artists over the past few years. To celebrate Pokémon’s 25th anniversary, Pokémon released a full album featuring original songs by Katy Perry and Post Malone. The latter artist also launched a “virtual concert” with Pokémon during the COVID-19 pandemic, in which the singer sang some of his hits to crowds of Pokémon.

Pokémon also collaborated with Hatsune Miku, the popular Vocaloid idol popular in Japan. As part of this collaboration, Pokémon imagined Hatsune Miku as a trainer specializing in each type of Pokémon. This collaboration has been incredibly popular in Japan, with music videos surpassing 5 million or more views on YouTube.

Pokemon Sleep It seems like a strange app at first glance, but it promotes healthy sleep and is very unobtrusive and fun. The application requires little maintenance and can be played for free without a significant drop in game quality.

The Pokémon Company also recently announced that it would change the development of Pokemon Sleep from Select Button, an original co-developer of the app, to the newly formed company Pokémon Works. It looks like The Pokémon Company is looking to help boost Pokemon Sleep as the game enters its second year, which should help allay concerns that the game will be gone soon.
