Some of the funniest moments in anime happen by accident. Of course, it’s always nice to see Goku be funny on purpose, but nothing is funnier than when his naivety accidentally shines through, revealing that one of the strongest warriors in the world might just be an idiot. Accidentally funny moments in anime don’t happen often, making their appearance all the more notable. Having accidentally funny moments is always refreshing and can be a nice relief from serious moments.
Sometimes it’s hard to tell if a character is being funny on purpose or by accident. As long as it’s funny, it doesn’t really matter in the end. Some characters, like Goblin Slayer, weren’t written to be that funny. Given the context of his situation, though, viewers can’t help but laugh the absurdity of your one-way mentality and his overwhelming dedication to killing goblins.

Gon and Killua
Hunter x Hunter
Gon and Killua are two of the craziest kids in anime. They are in their pre-teens during the events of Hunter x Hunter, making his jaw-dropping exploits even funnier. Gon and Killua are two of the strongest characters in Hunter x Hunteralthough they are only a few meters tall. When they enter the Hunter Exam, no one takes them seriously. Killua then fights hundreds of people at once, stealing all of their Hunter badges before the inspector even notices.
Gon and Killua’s outrageous strength is made hilarious by their indifference to it. They don’t mind being walking tanks, they just want to have fun and pursue their goals. Together, they stand out in every crowd and make everyone around them wonder why they are so ridiculously powerful. Gon can sacrifice his future to defeat Pitou in battle, but he cannot solve basic math problems.

Kyouko Hori
Horimiya
Horimiya is an exceptional and wholesome romance anime in a world full of harems and other nonsense. The series stars Miyamura and Hori, two characters who fall in love. The series explores the development of their relationship and their lives at school. One of the funniest parts of the series is Hori’s… interesting wishes. For any reason, she loves it when Miyamura treats her like trash. He hates it, but being the good boyfriend that he is, he will talk bad about his girlfriend if she wants to.
Watching Hori demand that Miyamura treat her badly is always hilarious. It’s funnier when Miyamura treats Hori badly in front of one of your friends who doesn’t fully understand the situation. All they see is Miyamura bullying his girlfriend, who somehow… likes it? Horimiya is a great romance series to watch and Hori makes it hilarious.

Bakugo
My Hero Academy
Bakugo is angry like a restaurant is open 24/7. He never stops getting mad, which is often funny since he really has no reason to be mad. He is the angriest towards his rival Deku, who rarely does anything worthy of Bakugo’s wrath. Bakugo’s anger may seem overwhelming, but it’s almost always a joke. He is a hot-headed character who is also a beast on the battlefield. Other than that, he’s still a hothead willing to fight over anything.
Bakugo’s proud nature makes him a great character in My hero academy. While other characters may have given up when they discovered their rival inherited the world’s second strongest quirk, Bakugo didn’t. He decided he would work even harder and insult Deku even more to become the strongest man he could be.

Aijou Rentarou
The 100 girlfriends who really love you
Aijou Rentarou has the best harem in 100 girlfriends. He wished for love and got much more than he expected. After being rejected 100 times, Rentarou went to the God of Love and prayed for help. He got this in the form of 100 soulmates who will love him forever. If he doesn’t love one of his soulmates, they will die. The premise is funny in itself, but Rentarou’s reaction to the love around him is hilarious.
He treats each of his girlfriends equally, which is incredibly noble and funny. Any other man in this situation would be a cheater, but not Rentarou. He is a genuine and honest man with each of his girlfriends, anime first. When he’s not with one of his dozens of girlfriends, he’s meeting a new one, adding to his growing list of soulmates.

Kuroko
Kuroko’s basketball
Kuroko’s basketball is a great sports anime starring Tetsuya Kuroko and his new teammate Taiga Kagami. Taiga is one of the best basketball players in Japan for his age. He is dominant on the court, scoring when he wants and overcoming opponents with strength and speed. Kuroko couldn’t be more different. He is an excellent basketball player because it is not dominant. He doesn’t score when he wants to and rarely outperforms his opponents, but that is its greatest strength.
Kuroko’s inability to play normal basketball, being his greatest strength, is hilarious. Normally, no one would want to be a ghost on the court, but Kuroko would. He’s not the funniest character all the time, but his role as a shadow is pretty funny given the context. All of his friends are exceptional at basketball because of their skills, and his greatest basketball skill is being a good friend.

Ainz Ooal Dress
Supreme Lord
Isekai protagonists are no strangers to being insanely overpowered. Some of the anime’s strongest characters gain powers when they are transported to a new world. Ainz is a unique exception because he was already dominated before being trapped in the world of Yggdrasil. Upon realizing he is the last real person left, he decides to take over the world to find someone else.
His Iä Shib-Niggurath spell is so strong that his allies began to applaud out of fear. It’s a hilarious moment that highlights the difference between Ainz’s strength and that of the NPCs living in his new world. He’s also accidentally hilarious when he does half of a plan only to have his allies do the rest for him, assuming that’s what he intended all along. Supreme Lord It’s never funnier than when Sebas and Demiurge present their leader’s plans to him, only to give him credit at the end.

Goblin Slayer
Goblin Slayer
Goblin Slayer as a series it is dark, grim and unforgiving. The first episode is jaw-dropping and the series doesn’t get much lighter. Although the series is based on some pretty difficult things, Goblin Slayer’s unique mind is worthy of a good laugh. His name couldn’t tell his story better: this guy just wants to kill goblins. He doesn’t care about bigger monsters, he doesn’t care about smaller monsters, he worries elves.
The fact that Goblin Slayer’s vocabulary isn’t just the word “goblin” is surprising. The only thing funnier than how focused he is on the goblins is how determined and prepared he is to beat them. They are by no means an easy enemy, but Goblin Slayer prepares for all-out war every time he faces a goblin, no matter if it’s 10 or 1. Their insane determination is one of the funniest parts of the entire series.

Shadow
The Eminence in the Shadow
Like Ainz Ooal’s dress, Shadow accidentally predicts the future all the time. He will tell Alpha a story he is making up on the spot, only to discover that everything he said was true. He doesn’t have the magical ability to predict the future and he can’t shape the events around him any more than anyone else, but he’s always right. It’s always funny to see Shadow making up some nonsense about the mysterious Cult of Diablos only for Beta to confirm that he’s 100% right.
Shadow isn’t even trying to be right, which makes it all the funnier. He just wants to be the titular Eminence in Shadow, but he’s also the enigmatic leader of Shadow Garden. As Cid, he is carefree and aloof, but as Shadow, he is an egomaniac. He flies across the battlefield, threatening to use his I Am Atomic abilities before disappearing into the night.

Goku
Dragon ball
Goku really only thinks about fighting. He’s not the worst father, he’s a decent husband, but at the end of the day, he’s a simple character who wants to fight the strongest people he can see. Your overwhelming naivety is always funny in Dragon Ball. There are even points in the series where Goku seems to imply that he doesn’t know what kissing isalthough he has two children. Even though he’s the strongest fighter in all of Universe 7, he can’t even pass the driving test.
Goku can be intentionally funny sometimes, but he’s at his best when he’s accidentally funny. While there are ways to interpret his actions, some of them are just plain funny. Gohan is the opposite of a fighter, so when he is sent to fight Cell he does it because he has to. Before the fight, however, Goku gives Cell a Senzu Bean so he can fully recover. Whatever your reasoning, it’s hilarious to see a man empower his enemy just to fight his own son.

Baki
Baki
Baki may be one of the most unintentionally funny series out there, but it could be entirely intentional, and That’s what makes the show so good. Baki is a series centered on the titular Baki as he seeks to avenge his mother’s death at the hands of his father, the Ogre Yujiro Hanma. To become strong enough to face his father, Baki undergoes ridiculous training. He fights imaginary opponents to get stronger, and while that may not seem absurd, from him false opponents usually win.
At one point in the series Yujiro breaks into Baki’s house to tell him to be more intimate with his girlfriend. while Baki is being intimate with his girlfriend. It’s an insane show from top to bottom in the best way possible, and Baki himself is a great representation of absurdity. One of the funniest moments in the series comes when Baki finds a new way to fight Pickle, the strongest prehistoric man in the world. His new fighting style is not some form of Muay Thai, or Boxing, or any other legitimate martial art that Baki has mastered. Instead of, he just imitates dinosaurs.
