An incredibly dark MCU detail reveals what Agatha gave her son

However, deeper down, the way the story has introduced the Darkhold could hint at bigger things to come as the series continues.

While Wanda stole the Darkhold in a desperate attempt to explore the multiverse and adopt variants of her children as her own, Agatha did quite the opposite to get her hands on the book. The spells it contains are incredibly powerful, but they also take a toll on the user physically and mentally. This is Part of the price paid for using the ancient book of spells. However, Agatha’s aspirations and ambition pushed her to make a bargain in order to overcome the Darkhold and magnanimously increase her own abilities.

However, episode 3 of Agatha all along suggests that Agatha may have paid a significant price for this trade. Early in the episode, Tin, played by Joe Locke, is talking to Jennifer Calle, who reveals a rumor about how Agatha got the Darkhold in the first place. She suggests that Agatha trades her child for the Darkhold.

Later in the same episode, there is a scene that reinforces the rumor when the witches gather around a potion to cure their poison. Agatha suddenly sees a vision As the room around her sinks, and she slowly walks to a baby’s bassinet. She looks apologetic and nervous as she approaches, but when she reaches the door and sees the darkness where the child is supposed to be, she recoils in horror before the room is suddenly bright, and she returns to stand with The other witches.

The similarities may just be a style choice, but it could hint at a larger reveal set for later in the series. Namely, the idea that Agatha’s child is actually the spawn of the devil, or in Marvel’s case, Mephisto.

If this is the case, it gives additional context to Agatha’s decision to give up her child in exchange for the Darkhold. It is possible that The child was indeed part of the bargain And Mephisto used her to get an heir. Otherwise, it is possible that Agatha was horrified by the abominable Helson she gave birth to, like Rosemary, and chose to willingly give him away. In any case, it appears that there are likely some ties between Agatha and Mephisto that the series can capitalize on.
