Spoilers ahead for the One Piece manga/anime, on which the live-action show is based.
One piece season two needs to make a major change to Nico Robin, and season one of Netflix’s East Blue version of the show proves it can be done. Among all the news One piece Season 2’s cast additions are Lera Abova as “Miss All Sunday,” whom Netflix avoids calling “Nico Robin.” The live-action series will have the chance to portray Robin as a true villain, at least for those unfamiliar with the source material.which should make his eventual redemption at the end of the Alabasta saga even better.
However, for this work, Miss All Sunday should have a greater role in One piece Season 2 compared to its manga counterpart. The fact that One piece the season 2 story will not include Alabasta, which makes it all the more important that key characters like Robin and Crocodile are properly set up in this next batch of episodes before the yet-to-be-confirmed season 3. Robin doesn’t have a very big role in One piece until after she joins the crewbut Netflix’s live-action show has already proven it’s not afraid to make changes.
One Piece changing the villains’ roles in the first season is good news for Nico Robin
Arlong and Buggy were recurring villains rather than unique antagonists
Having Miss All Sunday as one of the main villains of One piece Season 2 would be a significant change from the manga, considering Robin barely interacts with the Straw Hats before joining the crew at the end of Alabasta. However, it makes sense for a live-action TV show whose target audience includes people who are unfamiliar with One piece have overarching villains that appear in more than just one or two segments. For example, Netflix’s version of Arlong debuted in episode 3 in Orange Town, long before the Nami-centric episodes.

Arlong was one of the main antagonists of One piece 1st season alongside Buggy and Garpwhich was not the case in the source material. One piece is generally structured to have one villain or group of villains per arc, but such an approach doesn’t translate well to an eight-episode live-action series. Although there were problems with One piece live-action version of Nami’s story, particularly how rushed it was, having Arlong as the big bad of the first season was a smart decision. This approach should now be used for Miss All Sunday.
One Piece Season 2, having Robin as the main villain would be a welcome change
“Miss All Sunday” could be the recurring antagonist of season 2
For a long time One piece fans, describing Nico Robin as a villain would sound very strange. However, considering that Robin was in fact introduced as an antagonist working for Crocodile’s Baroque Works, it would make sense for the live-action show to portray her as one of season two’s big bads. Without the context of Nico Robin’s story, Miss All Sunday is just another villain working for the crime syndicate that Luffy and Princess Vivi’s crew are up against. This is why Robin should be a recurring enemy in One piece season 2.
In the anime, Miss All Sunday appears out of nowhere in the Going Merry and confronts the Straw Hats before disappearing for most of the Alabasta saga. It would be interesting if, instead of just revisiting Miss All Sunday in season 3 with the rest of the Alabasta saga, Netflix One piece they would put Robin in Little Garden and Drum Island too. This would make the character more relevant in the eyes of non-One piece fans who are discovering the story through the Netflix show. Plus, seeing Nico Robin as a villain would be a lot of fun.
Nico Robin is too big a character to have a small role in One Piece season two
Robin can’t just appear in one scene and then disappear until season three
Nico Robin’s live-action debut is one of the most exciting things to come out of One piece season 2. After years of following Robin’s journey in the manga and learning more about his past, Netflix One piece will offer Robin fans the chance to revisit an important part of the character’s history – her time at Baroque Works before becoming a Straw Hat Pirate. Given Robin’s popularity and her status as one of the One piecemain characters, it would be a waste not to give her enough screen time in season two.
With Netflix One piece Saving Alabasta for Season 3, Season 2 may have to reveal some things earlier and give the characters bigger roles than in the manga. This applies not only to Miss All Sunday, but also to Mr. 0. Joe Manganiello as Crocodile is too great a casting choice for him not to appear much in Season 2, although Crocodile only faces Luffy at the end of the saga that the show’s Netflix is about to cover. Hopefully, Robin, Chopper, and all the other characters debuting in Season 2 will get their time to shine.
