This Darth Vader cosplay proves the Sith Lord is more like Luke than you think

This jewel Star Wars Cosplay proves just as similar Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader And his son Luke Skywalker really are. There are many parallels between Luke and Anakin Skywalker’s stories in Star WarsRanging from their upbringing on Tatooine (although Anakin’s was undoubtedly much more uncomfortable) to their discovery of the Force and beginning of their Jedi path later in life. The father-and-son duo really does perfectly represent the ‘rhymes’ that Star Wars Movies and TV shows are so known for. A recent cosplay made this even clearer, however, with one charming prop.

The Darth Vader Cosplay, posted on Instagram by noahjmaurerHumorously shows Darth Vader kicking back, relaxing, and enjoying a glass of blue milk while lounging on a beach chair. One photo in the triptych even shows Vader with his hands spread as if the Sith Lord was really just there to have a good time – a really hilarious image because Vader really was threatened.

What Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker’s relationship meant for Star Wars

The moment Luke Skywalker discovers that Darth Vader is really his father is one of the most important in the entire franchise. Not only did this twist come to define much of the Star Wars Timeline, both before and after The empire strikes backBut also, this connection was crucial for Luke and Anakin. Luke famously took the information very badly, screaming that it was impossible for Vader to be his father.

by Return of the JediAlthough Luke has completely changed his tune. He had a newfound belief that his father still had good in him and that he could be saved. This reflects tremendous growth on Luke’s part, yes, but it also has massive implications for the entire galaxy because, in the end, this is exactly how the Sith and the Empire met their end (at least temporarily, in the case of Palpatine). .

Are the Jedi right about attachments?

There’s no question that Anakin Skywalker’s attachments were a major problem in the prequel trilogy. Anakin may not have fully fallen to the dark side until now Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the SithBut his mother’s death almost sent him careening down that road long before, evidenced by Anakin’s brutal slaughter of the Tusken Raiders. so, Luke’s ability to redeem Anakin proves that attachment can have its benefits. It was only because Luke is Anakin’s son that Anakin returned to the light side of the Force, saving the galaxy.

Given this, it is fair to ask whether attachment in and of itself is really a problem or if there was something about Anakin’s nature that made his relationships so dangerous. Other Jedi, such as Kanan Jarrus in Star Wars RebelsHad attachments – even romantic ones – without falling to the dark side. There’s a good case to be made that the Jedi got this part wrong. This Darth Vader Cosplay can be a wonderfully creative, bright image, but it’s also a reminder of how crucial Anakin and Luke Skywalker’s relationship was in Star Wars.
