Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Alien vs Avengers #2! David 8 (or simply David) is the main antagonist of Foreigner previous films, Prometheus and Alien: Allianceand since then he has gone multiversal, which is what fans are currently witnessing with his rampage across the world. Marvel Comics Universe in Alien vs Avengers. This crossover series presents David as more than just a sinister threat to anyone who crosses him, but a legitimate scourge across the multiverse. And the scariest part? David could do the same in Foreigner films.
In Alien vs Avengers #2, by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić, shows readers exactly how the Xenomorph infestation in the Marvel Universe came about. In the first issue, a series of capsules sent by unknown synthetics carrying Xenomorph Queens crash-landed on Earth, and in just a few years, the Xenomorphs successfully conquered the planet – taking down even Earth’s Mightiest Heroes themselves, the Avengers. Now, with the release of the second issue of this limited series, readers know that David is the synthetic man in charge. It is not a variant of David from the Marvel Universe, the original David from Prometheus.
This comic begins with the familiar scene of David destroying the Engineer’s homeworld with the Black Goo payload. David did the same thing in Alien: Alliancebut here he is not alone, as David has created two more identical David synthetics to join him. While Alien: Covenant fans know what will happen to David next, things take a dramatic turn in this comic. Instead of being trapped in Paradise until found by the Covenant, David and his duplicates proceed to reverse engineer the Xenomorph species and use them to exterminate all life on Earth. Foreigner Universe.
David eliminates every living organism in the alien universe and is doing the same to Marvel
Soon after eliminating all organic life in his home universe, David and his duplicates discover the secrets of multiversal travel. With an entire universe of technology at their disposal, the Davids head into the multiverse with the aim of ‘cleansing’ it of all life, just as they did in the multiverse. Foreigner Universe – and one of its stops is the Marvel Universe.
David is the biggest threat the Marvel multiverse has ever seen.
As any Marvel fan knows, the Marvel Universe is not just one universe, but an expansive multiverse of continuities that characters regularly switch between. The newly created Ultimate Universe is a prime example of this, as the Creator (originally from Earth-1610) jumped from Earth-616 to Earth-6160 to reshape it to his liking, drastically impacting the entire history of an entire universe. . That’s it how interconnected the Marvel multiverse is. So, with David infiltrating – and effectively conquering – one of them, he has access to all of them, making him the biggest threat the Marvel multiverse has seen in some time.
It’s true that Iron Man is able to take down one of David’s synthetics in this same issue of Alien vs Avengers (and Black Panther took down other synthetics at #1). However, the very fact that David was able to create more of himself during the events of Alien: Covenant proves that there could be countless duplicates, especially after over 1000 years of universal conquest under his belt. This means that David is still a problem for the Marvel multiverse, as there is no telling which ‘Earth’ will be the next target of the mad synthetic’s Xenomorphs.
Alien vs Avengers could be teasing what’s in store for the Alien movie universe
David fled at the end of Alien: Alliance – Could he be planning universal extinction?
While Alien vs Avengers deviates greatly from the continuity of the established Foreigner Universe (even before David travels to the Marvel Universe), the two have one important thing in common: David is still at large. To remember, David survived Alien: Alliance. Not only that, he emerged from the prequels entirely victorious, with an entire colony of humans to imbue with his own engineered lineage of the Xenomorph species (known as the Praetomorph).
In Alien vs AvengersDavid uses his Xenomorphs to destroy all life in the universe, allowing synthetics to reign supreme. He could be doing the same thing in Foreigner? At this point, there’s really nothing that can stop him. Of course, David’s story ended with Alien: Alliance (as the franchise went in a different direction with Alien: Romulus), but that doesn’t mean he isn’t planning in the background. In truth, Alien vs Avengers could be teasing what David is planning to do in Foreigner films, as this crossover comic shows the extent of the horrors he can unleash.
Only time will tell if Prometheus‘David 8 will return to conquer the entire universe in Foreigner movies, but as of now, he is still a huge threat to the entire Marvel Comics multiverse, as it doesn’t seem likely that the heroes – or anyone else, for that matter – will be able to stop him.
