One of the defining characteristics of Boruto The franchise focuses primarily on the mysterious alien clan known as the Otsutsuki. These ancient and cruel planet-devouring warriors first appeared in the final moments of the Fourth Great Shinobi War. naruto series. For many years, they remained one of the franchise’s biggest mysteries, until the Boruto series delved deeper into their lore and abilities.
However, a small detail found in chapter 34 of the sequel series may confirm that they have been influencing the Shinobi World long before they were introduced. One of the greatest unsolved mysteries naruto it was the identity of the god Jashin, worshiped by the murderous and crazy Hidan, an iconic member of Akatsuki. Although more details about the cult of Jashin were revealed in the spinoff History of KonohaThe identity of this mysterious god is still shrouded in mystery, but Boruto may have already teased the incredible truth.
Shibai could have appeared sooner than expected
Jashin could have been the Otsutsuki god all along
The God JashinWorshiped by Akatsuki member Hidan, it could have been the sinister Shibai Otsutsuki in disguise, as proven by the symbols used to summon their powers being extremely similar. Jashin apparently gave Hidan the ability to establish a connection between bodies after drinking a small amount of his target’s blood. Thanks to Hidan’s unique ability to heal all injuries, he could utilize his patron’s gift to end his opponent’s life by injuring himself. However, to activate this technique, Hidan needed to first draw the mark of Jashin, an inverted triangle within a circle.
After Hidan was defeated by Shikamaru in one of the narutoIn the most memorable battles of , this symbol and all mention of the deity disappeared from the main series, and its origins became a mystery. Even in the two spin-off novels (and the manga adaptation of one) where he is mentioned, Jashin never appears or is spoken in a historical sense, with Hidan basically acting as his prophet.
However, most fans may have missed an important detail in Boruto chapter #34, in which the place where Amado keeps the clones of one of his cyborgs, Delta, was portrayed. This strange facility contained three capsules where the spare bodies of Akebi’s reincarnation slept. Below them, a symbol identical to that associated with Jashin can be seenwith the only difference being three lines that connect to the pods.
Throughout the Boruto series, Amado never mentioned any connection between his experiments and the deity known as Jashin. What he has commented on several times is his deep knowledge of the Otsutsuki who ascended to another plain of existence, Shibai. The abilities his cyborgs awakened over time, called Shinjutsu due to their divine nature, were confirmed to come from the alien god. This small detail could be a hint that Shibai and Jashin are the same, with the latter being a fake identity that he used to interact with humans.
Shibai being Jashin could explain his supernatural abilities
He could be trying to cause chaos among humans
During Hidan’s time as one of the main antagonists of the Akatsuki Suppression arc, the nature of his powers was never explained. The anime explained that Jashin had a small but loyal following who worked closely with the Akatsuki member to grant him immortality. However, the rituals or techniques used during their religious ceremonies were only shown in the Akatsuki Hiden novel, where a man named Ameyuki massacres his village to gain Jashin’s powers, but is easily killed by Hidan, proving that the ritual was false, or at least wrong.
Since History of Konoha shows another of Jashin’s followers, Ryuki, attempting to perform the same ritual, but failing, fans of the franchise believed that this little mystery would remain unsolved, or perhaps that Jashin was always intended to be a fictional deity in the naruto world. However, the presence of the symbol of this mysterious entity in the Boruto series could refute these theories. Given that all of Amado’s experiments have some sort of connection to Shibai, the triangle within a circle may also be a symbol associated with Otsutsuki.
If that’s the case, an interesting theory could be that Shibai has been interacting with humans disguised as Jashin. The ability to kill people by drinking their blood could be a still unknown Shinjutsu, granted to humans with whom he developed a spiritual connection, such as the Seventh Hokage and Hagoromo.
In episode #420 of Naruto Shippuuden anime, Kaguya’s son used his abilities to communicate with the protagonist. He did this to help the Shinobi Alliance in their battle against Madara, as he wished for the planet he loved to remain. Shibai, unlike the famous and wise Sage of the Six Paths, does not have the same love for Earth, as proven by the countless worlds he devastated in search of power. If he actually found a way to communicate with humans, it’s possible he would use it to cause chaos, making it easier for other aliens to take over.
Delta could become Jashin’s new weapon
Delta has demonstrated the ability to reincarnate
Of all the cyborgs created by Amado in Boruto franchise, Delta appears to be the most important and connected with Shibai. Not only is she an incomplete reincarnation of Akebi, the scientist’s deceased daughter, but she was also the one whose pods were positioned on top of Jashin’s emblem. Above all, his tendency to self-destruct and awaken within a new body is such as Hidan’s ability to deal severe damage to himself to defeat an opponent. The series may suggest that Delta will soon acquire an ability equal to that of the former Akatsuki member.
The blonde cyborg is one of the few who has not awakened her Shinjutsu, despite being created with Shibai cells. Despite this, the manga pointed to characters like Delta soon obtaining his divine ability, as stated by Kashin Koji in chapter #13 of Boruto: Two Blue Vortexeswhen he awakened his Prescience ability. Akebi’s clone could be configured to obtain Hidan’s abilities, becoming capable of causing damage to his opponents while sacrificing his own body. This would be an excellent way to connect the threads that have been left throughout the franchise regarding the god’s identity.
Giving Delta this ability would give her an incredible advantage during battle, turning her weakness into an incredible strength. It would also allow her to become a valuable asset to Konoha during their upcoming fight against Jura and his ever-growing group of God Trees. Delta has often been considered one of Amado’s weakest creations, as her abilities are not as devastating as Code’s or Eida’s, setting her up for a massive boost in power. Awakening this ability would also allow the series to explain more about the secret abilities obtained by Shibai before his ascension to godhood.
THE Boruto the franchise frequently utilized threads and characters from its predecessor to keep its story connected to its roots. Bringing it back Jashin it would be an intriguing way to explore one of the series’ greatest mysteries while also expanding the lore of this enigmatic deity. Regardless, Delta will continue to play a vital role in the story, almost guaranteeing that her character will have to be developed in the future.
