One of Deadpool and Wolverinethe latest variants are immediately being introduced to the Wonder canon, with the new series Kidpool and Spider-Boy. The impact of the MCU’s latest hit film, Deadpool and Wolverinehas spread through various means in the Marvel Universe; Now, one of the film’s newest variants is preparing to make its comic book debut, as Kidpool teams up with a familiar Spider-Verse character.
As announced by Marvel Comics, Kidpool and Spider-Boy – written by Christopher Yost, with art by Nathan Stockman and more – is the comic book debut of Deadpool and WolverineKidpool. Played by Ryan Reynolds’ daughter Inez Reynolds, this variant of the Merc with a Mouth is just as foul-mouthed as her adult counterpart, sporting water pistols and toy lightsabers to differentiate herself.
Although there are still many things to be revealed about the book, the premise alone shows a lot of promise as these heroes team up for their first big adventure together.
Marvel officially introduces KIDPOOL into comic book continuity, on a team with new hero Spider-Boy

The best part of Kidpool’s comic book debut is how she immediately teams up with a Spider-Hero. The dynamic between Deadpool and Spider-Man has made them a fan-favorite duo due to their opposing morals. Choosing to do the same with Kidpool, placing her with Spider-Boy, who has also just taken his place in the Marvel canon, is a brilliant way to do this. Plus, given how rude she is in the film, it’s the perfect way to introduce readers who may not have seen the film to who she is, sparking even more interest in her character.
What’s even better is that the teases Marvel leaves in its announcement show that everything fans love about Spider-Man and Deadpool’s team-ups will be present in Kidpool and Spider-Boy. The series’ advanced synopsis builds tension between the two characters by asking:
“Can Teen Arachnid stop the High School Killer from causing the return of the Comic Book Code? Unlikely! But Bailey will try!“
This is a fantastic way to establish that the hijinx and fourth-wall-breaking antics of Spider-Man and Deadpool’s stories will be found in this new series, making it a must-read for fans of its dynamic, which will be reflected in the adventures of these two new heroes.
Kidpool and Spider-Boy Tips: Kidpool may not be exactly the same as “Deadpool and Wolverine”
Kidpool and Spider-Boy #1 – Variant covers by Chris Campana, Paco Medina and Todd Nauck
The most interesting detail from Marvel’s description of the upcoming series is as it questions whether the Kidpool that will appear in the book will be the same one that fans saw on the big screen. The article states that “nothing is off limits“after asking if”this new Kidpool [could] be the same as the movie that destroys the multiverse.” After all, the design is similar to the Deadpool variant, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s exactly the same as the film.
Kidpool was mostly a throwaway joke who didn’t get much time to shine, so it will be interesting to see if this expansion of his character is creating an entirely new variant of that character. Fans will be able to check out this new series when Children’s pool & Spider-Boy #1 hits will be released on December 25, 2024. Kidpool has a lot of potential in Marvel comic canon, whether it’s the annoying Spider-Boy in this new series or becoming part of the Young Avengers in the future.
