The supernatural spirit you play in Slitterhead can possess anyone he finds, but special “Rarity” Characters can be recruited due to the unique powers they gain when controlled. Although you can forcibly dominate everyone you meet, their blood is not strong enough to fend off the monsters you must fight. Rarities have strong combat skills that help you fight various horrors.
Slitterhead revolves around possessing random individuals to defend yourself against the many terrifying creatures that chase you. Unlike hide-and-seek horror titles, this game has robust combat mechanics tied to Rarity’s characters. Instead of taking control of a random citizen who will likely die quickly, you can coexist within a Rarity to wield specific abilities and powers tied to those characters.
How to recruit all characters in Slitterhead
Find special everyone in different missions
You can recruit Rarities to make them selectable before missions. This gives you a way to start a mission already controlling the powers of the characters you prefer to use. For example, when you obtain Julee Rarity during the game’s prologue, you can use her as a starting character for any quest you embark on in the future.
After recruiting a character, you can explore their unique abilities in a training mission before using them in a real mission. Keep in mind that you can still possess regular people after recruiting Rarities, but their combat prowess pales in comparison to special characters. Here are all the unique characters you can find in Slitterhead and how to recruit them:

Doni |
Day 2 |
Using Rarity Edo, go to the “No sleep zone RE (2nd Loop)” mission and head left instead of possessing the others right away. Have Edo pick a lock, enter possession mode, and fly to a vent in the next room. Fly until you find Doni, then possess them and win a fight to recruit them permanently. |
Edo |
Day 1 |
During the “Peeking Parasite RE (2nd Loop)” mission, find two people who mention that a homeless man’s dog is wandering around. Find and own the dog outside the Fish and Eggs restaurant and follow the scent he is tracking. This will help you find Edo, which you can possess to defeat a Slitterhead and recruit him. |
Tri |
Day 2 |
During the “Hidden Cave RE (2nd Loop)” mission, listen on the first floor to hear about someone being held in the room above the building’s chapel. After dealing with the Slitterhead in this location, go to the third floor of this building. Enter possession mode and fly through an open window to find Tri, who you can take over to defeat a Slitterhead and recruit him. |
Betty |
Days 1–3 |
Complete all six “Mysterious Old Lady” encounters, which you can find in various missions throughout each day. |
Some of the best horror games offer multiple ways to play, with Rarities in Slitterhead making it a great way to replay missions for a new experience. With each character’s unique powers and abilities, some may be more adept at taking down some bosses or enemies more quickly. To find out which Rarity character is best for you, you’ll want to recruit as many as possible as you progress through the story.
If you’re struggling to find certain characters, don’t be afraid to explore the areas where the quests take place. The more people you own, the more clues you can find to the location of a Rarity. After finding a way to recruit all the characters Slitterheadyou will have a full team of people prepared to face any threat as you try to get to the bottom of this monstrous epidemic.
