Rings of Power the second season hinted that other wizards of the Istari Order may appear in the future of the show. As of Rings of Power At the end of the second season, the two wizards are positioned to play an important role in the upcoming installments of the Prime Video show. On the side of good is the wizard formerly known as the Stranger, now Gandalf, whose identity has been confirmed. This confrontation will likely serve as one of the major storylines for Gandalf in season three, who is still in the far eastern lands of Rhun. Away from other potential storylines Rings of Power In Season 3, Gandalf will likely learn more about his identity now that he has his staff, and his lost memories and history as a friend of the Valar will likely be explored. However, what makes this storyline even more enticing is the clue contained in Rings of Power The ending of the second season implied that other wizards might appear in the future of the show.
The Dark Wizard hints that the remaining Istari will appear in the third season of “Ring of Power”
The Dark Wizard talks about three other wizards
Rings of PowerThe Dark Wizard of the series is the vehicle for this hint that there will be more Istari in the future of the show. IN Rings of Power In the season two finale, the Dark Wizard speaks to Gandalf as if he were an old friend. The Dark Wizard makes it clear that he knows who Gandalf is and that the two have a history, despite the latter having no knowledge of the former or his own past. It is in this conversation that the Dark Wizard alludes to another Istari from Lord of the Rings.

The Dark Wizard informs Gandalf that there are five Istari in total. He goes on to say that it was Gandalf who begged his fellow Istari to go to Middle-earth, since no wizard could defeat Sauron alone. This means that other wizards are either in Middle-earth or may follow in the footsteps of Gandalf and the Dark Wizard. and will go there in future seasons of the show. If this is the case, then the remaining three Istari could appear, marking the full-fledged appearance of Tolkien’s order of wizards in live-action.

With the possibility of more wizards appearing in Rings of Powerattention will naturally shift to something to which others can be attracted. As of Rings of Power At the end of the second season, only Gandalf and the Dark Wizard were confirmed as members of the Istari. Of course, Gandalf’s identity was confirmed through his experience with Rings of PowerSturs, however, the Dark Wizard’s fate remains a mystery, as does the fate of the other three Istari.

The other four Istari known from Tolkien’s source material are Saruman the White, Radagast the Brown, and two unnamed Blue Wizards. who were called only Alatar and Pallando. One of the four wizards will be established as the Dark Wizard in future seasons. Rings of power probably one of the Blue Wizards who are said to have gone to the east, where Rhun is, and never returned. Thus, other potential inclusions in Rings of Power are early versions of Saruman, Radagast and another Blue Wizard from Tolkien’s works.

Rings of Power makes slight changes to Tolkien’s story
Although it is possible that more Istari will appear in Rings of PowerThe future seasons are incredibly exciting, there is no denying that this reality will change the history of Tolkien’s Legendarium. Gandalf’s appearance has already drawn criticism. Tolkien wrote that he and the other five Istari did not come to Middle-earth until the Third Age. – after thousands of years Rings of PowerThe timeline of the Second Age is when the Valar sent them to help the free peoples of the world resist the darkness of Sauron.

Admittedly, there is one passage from Tolkien Peoples of Middle-earth this hints that Gandalf could have been somewhere in the Second Agethat’s probably where Rings of Power got inspiration. However, for the other four wizards there are no such hints, meaning their appearance in Rings of Power would have changed Tolkien’s stories quite significantly. Nevertheless, Rings of Power after all, it’s just an adaptation, and even Peter Jackson’s projects of the same ilk have made changes to the original novels in favor of compelling storytelling and intriguing character work, the latter involving the Istari.
