With the fall anime season finally here, the biggest sports anime in years, Blue lacqueris about to begin its long-awaited second season, and when and where fans can catch a new weekly episode has finally been revealed. The anime is entering its best arc, and fans will want to tune in and see why the series is as popular as it is.

According to a press release sent by Crunchyroll, Blue lacquer Season 2 will be available to stream on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PT)12 PM Eastern Standard Time (ET), 11 AM Central Standard Time (CT) and 4 PM Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Since the first season aired more than a year ago, Crunchyroll will make a recap video available to jog viewers’ memories and keep them up to date with what’s going on. This is a great option given the much-needed context that will be offered for the highly anticipated Under 20 arc.

Blue Lock Season 2 will take the unique sports series to new heights

Scheduled for 14 episodes, this season will dive into the U-20 Match arc, a storyline highly regarded as the series’ best. The Japanese Football Association is unhappy with the Blue Lock project and how Ego is handling it, and they are threatening to disband it. Fortunately, after much convincing, they agree to let the project continue if 11 players from it can defeat the U-19 national team. And so, Ego starts an intense training regiment to pick 11 players who can beat professionals who play at the highest levels of football.

Although the match is extremely exciting, one highlight of the arc is the conflict between the two brothers, Rin and Sa Itoshi, who are on opposite sides of the game. Their rivalry and childhood will be on display, and fans can expect the heartbreaking family to finally hit it off after keeping it together for so long. In addition, many other characters such as Barou, Olivier, Nagi, Chihiro and more will have some of their best moments in this match, and it is obvious that Isagi Yoichi will be the man of the hour.

Although excitement is high, there are concerns about the season, especially the animation. From the trailer, fans are not happy with the movement and stiffness of the characters. While this is a legitimate concern, there is a chance that when the Blue lacquer Anime Airs, the actual animation will be much better than expected, so there is hope.
