The story itself is interesting enough, but the movie infuses it with terrific performances, and a great sense of humor while even making the math exciting and accessible. The movie became a surprise Best Picture nominee and is a sure-fire crowd-pleaser that, While it deals with the racism of the time with a very surface-level approach, it pulls off the inspiring story it tells in an entertaining way.
