House of Spoils is a tight story with a relatively small castBut each of them bring a unique energy to the film. Gabriel Drake (Dead Boy Detectives) appears as Alvin, the chef’s primary assistant. Marton Csokas (Cuckoo) plays Marcello, a former boss of the chef who doubts her ability to open her establishment. Michael Brot Silset (Swingers) appears as Erik Haas, a successful chef and friend to Andres. Amara Karan (Hope Street) plays a minor but important role as Hiral Sen, a food critic who could make or break the chef’s new restaurant.

Perhaps the most important but understated role in the film belongs to Imola Gáspár (Dunn: Part Two). Gáspár plays the unnamed witch That seems to haunt the grounds of the estate, steadily improving the chef’s state of mind. The film remains largely focused on the chef and her journey, but the supporting cast flesh out her world in a way that keeps the horrors and tensions of House of Spoils Firmly rooted to the real world until it needs to shift gears for a more supernatural move.

House of Spoils has an ambitious chef opening a restaurant on a remote estate. She struggles with kitchen chaos, self-doubt and a haunting presence that aims to sabotage her efforts.
