Jonathan is a 61-year-old shipping consultant from Oakland, Iowa. In the first few episodes of The Golden BacheloretteHe opened up to Joan about his past heartache. During episode 2, Joan chose Jonathan to be the prom king during the 80s prom group date, which meant he received the group date rose. Earlier in the night, he told her he wasn’t attending his own senior prom because he asked a girl to go with him, and she said yes, but later changed her mind and backed out. He was the only student of color in his high school.

Jonathan admitted to Joan that the incident completely destroyed his ego. However, he added that this new prom with Joan healed his heart. During The Golden Bachelorette season 1 episode 3, Joan chose Jonathan for a one-on-one date, during which they went horseback riding. He tells her about his divorce, and how much the sudden breakup affected his life. They had a lot of fun, sharing great conversation and even some kisses, and Joan gave him the date rose. According to an Instagram post from reality steve, Joan does not choose Jonathan at the end of her season. However, the reason for their breakup has not been revealed yet. What is known is that Jonathan could not come to Joan’s hometown dates because Reality Steve shared that Joan chose Jordan Heller, Pascal Ibgui, Guy Gansert and Chock Chapple for the dates.
After Joan’s hometown dates, she said goodbye to Jordan, which meant she spent her fantasy suite dates in Tahiti with Pascal, Guy, and Chuck. Pascal self-eliminated at the last three or the last two because he was not in love with Joan. This means that Guy is either sent home after the fantasy suite dates, or he made it to the last two. Reality Steve revealed that Joan chose Chock in the endBut he does not know if they were injured.
