Build-A-Bear’s version of Cubone continues the Pokemon’s dark lore
No one knows what’s actually under the skull
Cubone may look like a cute Pokemon, but it is A very dark story behind the small dinosaur-like creature. According to in-game lore, the skull cubone he wears on his head is the skull of his dead mother, Marowak. The lines on the side of the skull are not scratches, as they may appear at first, but stains from the many tears that the little Cubone cried in her loneliness. Pokemon legends say no one knows what’s under the skull helmet, though Kubone may have links to Kangaskan.
