Check out what Voros had to say below:
Ironically, Kayce is the soldier. These are your roots. Therefore, he is a suitable role to see himself fighting for something. I think Kayce was always fighting for something. One of the beautiful things about this season is that all the characters’ narratives are deeply intertwined. Since the beginning of the show, the fight has always been for land. There have been different adversaries that have come and gone, but at the end of the day, it’s always a matter of the family coming together to fight for the land, to fight for the Dutton name.
What Kayce’s Role in Her Family’s Conflict Means for Yellowstone Season 5, Part 2
Since the beginning of the series, Kayce has always tried to stay out of other characters’ conflicts in yellow stonebeing the most independent of the children due to his distrust of John (Kevin Costner). However, with the father now out of the picture, It looks like he will be forced to choose between his brothers, doing what’s best for the Ranch in the long term. While it’s possible he will side with Jamie following his attempt to remove his father as governor of Montana, his wife’s influence could turn him to Beth.
However, while the internal conflict is brewing, Voros also suggests that the greater influence of maintaining the Ranch could lead to a conclusion that more benefits the family as a whole. This could suggest that Kayce acts as a mediator between his warring brothers.potentially helping them find a middle ground that doesn’t destroy their family’s legacy in the process. However, depending on the events that unfold as the battle begins, he may still be forced to choose between them. This could set the stage for the potential yellow stone sequel series, or completely wrap up Dutton’s storyline once and for all.
