Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Terrifier 3!
THE Terrifying 2 the director’s commentary reveals an important detail about the franchise that gives Sienna the cure in Terrifying 3 a much more significant meaning. After the monumental box office and viewership success of Terrifier 3, it’s no surprise that fans are already looking forward to Terrifying 4which has been unofficially confirmed. However, to understand what’s to come, viewers will need to look back.
When Terrifying 2 was released on Blu-ray, the disc came with extra content, the most exciting being Damien Leone’s director’s commentary. In addition to telling fun anecdotes about the production of the film, Leone shared several details about the main Terrifying characters and tradition, revealing details that will undoubtedly come into play Terrifying 4which should be the last film in the franchise.
Sienna’s healing abilities in Terrifier 3 come from her immortal status
Sienna’s supernatural powers don’t come from her sword
Throughout the Terrifying 2 director’s commentary, Leone repeatedly references the fact that Siena and Art are two sides of the same coin, with Art being the divine force of evil and Siena the divine force of good. However, she doesn’t fully reach that point until the end of the film. Leone says the following:
“She doesn’t become this divine super being until she’s killed and resurrected, and then she’s on the same playing field as Art. But she’s superior… So she goes through a more classical, very fantastical resurrection here, and this It’s making her even stronger. You can tell she is receiving all the energy the Divine has to offer.”
This context explains many of Sienna’s non-human aspects in Terrifying 3how Sienna resists Vicky’s possession and quickly recovers from her injuries. Initially, the sword seemed to be the answer to this last question. Sienna’s sword heals any wounds caused by it, but Leone said in Terrifying 2 comment that the weapon only has two divine abilities:
-
Kill Art the Clown
-
Heal Sienna’s injuries caused by the blade
With this understanding, the sword would not explain how it recovers so quickly from its other Terrifying 3 injuries. Instead, his healing abilities in the film likely come from his status as an immortal being, just like Art the Clown. After all, the villain of the Terrifier series can get hurt, like Sienna, but it doesn’t stay that way for long. He is still able to function after significant injuries. This is reflected in Sienna when she can use her hands and arm again right after Art cuts her with a hatchet.
Terrifier 3 Showing Sienna’s healing powers is important for Terrifier 4
Terrifier 4 Will Likely Send Sienna To The Depths Of Hell
From the end of Terrifying 3Sienna does not yet realize the full extent of her powers, appearing surprised as her hands heal. She obviously already knew of his past experiences with Art, death, and the sword, but it is possible that she doubted the veracity of her own memories. With Sienna surviving serious injuries and healing in Terrifying 3, is it possible Terrifying 4 will show her reaching her full potential as the Warrior Angel her father saw in his visions.
This would be the perfect time, since Terrifying 3 provoked hell as the setting for the next film. If the franchise’s supernatural elements are to be augmented through other settings and characters, Sienna needs to become the supernatural force for good that she represents. Terrifying films.
