Screen Rant Recently chatted with Cudlitz himself for Superman & Lois Season 4, when he talked about taking Krypton’s last son for the final scene. When Cudlitz was asked about Lex not only getting the Man of Steel’s heart but literally stomping and destroying it in front of SuperboyTaking away any hopes of bringing his father back from the dead, the actor shared the details on how the scene came about:
Michael Cudlitz: Interesting… that was fun, really, that was fun. That was great! [laughs] Maybe I’m tired. We had two or three that I just dropped that could be dropped, and it didn’t matter because once it dropped, we were out of it. Then the one that was crashable, I think we had two real ones that we could crush, and then we could rebuild them, if we had to, and put them back together, and they could CGI. I think we knew that, but we had two actual physical parts that we thought were going to work. I think we got it on the first one, but we used everything we had for it. It’s just with a situation like that, you want to make sure you’re covered so we do a bunch for safety. But yes, Alex [Garfin] Was incredible on the scene. It’s a very, very emotional scene for the fans. I’m sure I’ll be in love with this one for a while! [laughs]

It also raises the stakes, because it’s not just something that the Fortress of Solitude can fix in these Superman & Lois Season 4 arc.
Our take on the Superman and Lois Season 4 scene
While Superman & Lois Season 3 already made it clear that this would be a very brutal version of Lex, to see him actually stomp Clark’s heart is another big shock. Even though the DC TV shows on the CW have been able to create some incredibly dark plots over the years, It’s a surprise that something like Superman’s heart being physically destroyed was actually shown. With only seven episodes left to go, time will tell how Superman & Lois Season 4 will deal with the absence of the Man of Steel.
