What happened in Thousand Year Blood War Part 3 Episode #1?
Yhwach turns the tables on Squad Zero
Episode #1 began by revisiting some of the action seen in the Part 2 finale, then picked up from there with new content. While the other members of Yhwach’s Elite Guard seemed to be defeated, Ori proved that he was not done yet, and continued to fight Senjumaru Shutaro even in her Bankai dimension. The battle continued to show Uryu’s new abilities, and he was able to emerge victorious by switching places with Senjumaru using his writing power.
Yahvach was apparently also defeated by Ichibe, but he managed to hold out long enough for his true power to be revealed: the Almighty. With this opportunity, Yehuch was able to undo what Ichiber did to him and strike back, create and cut Ichebe. Not being able to stop him, Yehuch went up to the soul king’s palace, and finally laid eyes on the Supreme One himself. Ichigo and his friends arrived too late to help Squad Zero, but Ichigo was able to speak Ichibe’s name and bring him back to life. Unable to fight, Ichibe entrusted the protection of the Soul King to Ichigo.
Bleach Thousand-Year Blood War Part 3, Episode #2 Kills the King
Things are not looking good for the Soul King
Episode #2 of Thousand-year blood war Part 3 is entitled “Kill the King.” The king in question is undoubtedly the Soul King, and Yahweh came all this way just to kill him, so the situation looks pretty grim. As the Soul King is the cornerstone of the universe as it exists, there is no telling exactly what will happen if Yhuach succeeds in killing him. The universe may begin collapsing immediately, causing the Soul Society, Hueco Mundo and the world of the living to come together in an apocalyptic scenario.
Luckily, Ichigo and his friends had just arrived, so if they hurry there’s still a chance they can interrupt Yhwach before it’s too late. Ichigo’s training with Squad Zero has taken him to a new level of fighting, so it’s possible he can take on Yhwach, but can anything really compete with Yhwach’s almighty? Aside from the immediate situation in the Soul King’s Palace, the post-credits scene of episode #1 showed Head Captain Shunsui Kyoraku approaching the bound Aizen, seemingly ready to make a deal with him.
Aizen has at least some interest in the world continuing to exist, so it seems the situation may be dire enough that letting Aizen loose is a better choice than keeping him locked up. Aizen is smart enough to know when it’s in his best interest to work together, and probably won’t go rogue or try to team up with the Quincy (who have already proven they have no use for him). Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War There is already a turning point, and everything that comes will be changed by what happens in the next episode.
