The adorable kitten flattened in Valley of the Stars is winning hearts with its riotous animation. The game allows players to choose either a cat or a dog as their first pet, with the option to get more animals later in the game. Many people choose the pet they like in real life or even use in-game pets to commemorate their existing pets.

Reddit user tarteletlover they did not make this choice consciously, saying they chose the cat by accident. In fact, the Redditor reveals in response to comments that they have a dog of their own who frequently does zoomies, just like the dogs in the game do. Yet, It didn’t take the orange pixelated kitten to win their love, however, saying that “The cat’s flat animation made me think it’s worth it.

In the Reddit post, tarteletlover shares an image of his in-game cat looking like a pancake, with the caption “He’s so… goofy.“Others adhered with love to the kitten, user beaver comparing him to Garfield with “a bad case of Mondays.Remote Grapefruit726 lets everyone know that there is nothing to worry about as the cat is actually solar powered and has gone into low power consumption mode while recharging.

Reddit user maebythemonkey He even says he likes dogs, but he always chooses the cat in SV because it’s cuter. Some commenters admit to being worried when they first saw the cat lying on the floor and were very relieved to discover that the cat was just relaxing in the most orange way possible.

Valley of the Stars is one of the most popular cozy games out there and it’s little details like these that set it apart in a space full of competitors. The game is so complete that even its flaws are cute, doing silly things like making chickens change color in the middle of a nap or making the horses multiply inexplicably.

Situations like these make for a more interesting and silly play, even if it’s by accident. Other wonderful moments were created by solo developer Concerned Ape, who imbued the game with love and attention to every detail. All of this, combined with the silly accidental “features,” makes Valley of the Stars an enchanting and wonderful experience.
