Outer Banks Season 4 Stars Madelyn Cline and Madison Bailey Reveal What They Would Do with El Dorado’s Gold

Netflix officially renewed External Banks for a fifth and final batch of episodes before the release of Season 4, Part 2. The streaming service will release five new episodes of the adventure drama on November 7, which will see the group of friends continue their treasure hunt in Morocco. The main cast includes Chase Stokes as John B, Madelyn Cline as Sarah, Madison Bailey as Kiara, Rudy Pankow as JJ, Jonathan Daviss as Pope, Carlacia Grant as Cleo and Drew Starkey as Rafe.

Despite finding the legendary city of El Dorado and receiving $1,172,549, the Pogues are at a financial loss. They overpay for Maybank land and lose the gold set aside for property taxes when JJ bets on himself in a motorcycle race. Wes Genrette’s proposal to find and deliver Blackbeard’s gold seems like the only option, but as they learned on the previous journey, no treasure hunt is without emotional costs.

Screen speech interviews Cline and Bailey about how they would spend the El Dorado gold, Kiara’s relationship with JJ in External Banks Season 4 and which skills are most useful during the Pogues’ newest adventure.

Kiara wants to support JJ in Outer Banks season 4

“Sometimes, it’s the people who are pushing you away who need love the most.”

Screen Rant: If you went on a treasure hunt and ended up with the same amount of gold as the Pogues, what would be the first thing you would buy?

Madison Bailey: I’m the opposite of Kiara. I’ll just put it all in savings and we’ll see about that later.

Madelyn Cline: I’m going to do something crazy. I’m going to buy a boat.

Madison Bailey: Now I don’t have to. I can just go on your boat. The best boat is someone else’s boat.

JJ and Kiara are a couple in season 4. What can you say about the ups and possible downs of this relationship?

Madison Bailey: I think we have some really solid highs. You are seeing everything for the first time. Some low points are that JJ is going through a lot and Kiara is really trying to figure out how to get there. Sometimes, it’s the people who are pushing you away who need love the most. Kiara is finding that place in her heart and finding the balance between trying to advise him but just being there for him.

The Pogues are the most experienced treasure hunters in Season 4 of Outer Banks

“Us [traveled] by boat for quite a while, and I think we’ve really figured out how to do that.”

What have Sarah and Kiara learned in previous seasons that will help them on their current treasure hunt?

Madison Bailey: I think it’s our mode of transportation. We have [traveled] by boat for quite a while, and I think we’ve really figured out how to do that. We got there. We’ve gotten to where we’re going.

Madelyn Cline: Yes. If there’s something on us, we’ll get there.

Madison Bailey: They probably bring Band-Aids now and an emergency kit, maybe.

Madelyn Cline: They’ve become a little more experienced now. Maybe we will be a little more efficient in planning.

About Outer Banks Season 4

Created by Jonas Pate, Josh Pate and Shannon Burke

After last season’s 18-month flash-forward showing Wes Genrette’s proposal for the Pogues to find Blackbeard’s treasure, Season 4 takes us back in time to that moment. After finding gold at El Dorado, the Pogues return to OBX and commit to having a “normal” life. They have built themselves a new safe haven, officially dubbed “Poguelandia 2.0”, where they live together and run a successful bait, tackle and charter shop.

But after some financial setbacks, John B, Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope and Cleo accept Wes’ offer, drawn back into the “G” game for an all-new adventure. But before they know it, they are completely lost, with dangerous new enemies on their heels, racing toward the treasure. Meanwhile, their problems only grow and they are forced to question their past, present and future – who they really are, was it all worth it and how much are they willing to risk?
