Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is next Star Wars TV show to be released, but where is it set in the Star Wars timeline? Skeleton Crew is one of the few confirmed upcoming Star Wars shows, and although little is known about the show at this time, it has been confirmed that Skeleton Crew will be released on December 3, 2024, on Disney+. Jude Law will be the protagonist of the show and, interestingly, he appears to be managing a group of children lost in the galaxy.

Adding to the intrigue about the show, these kids’ home world appears to be similar to Earth, which, along with this kind of coming-of-age story, will certainly be new to Star Wars movies and TV shows. The timeline of this show will also be interesting. Specifically, Skeleton Crew occurs at a crucial point in the Star Wars franchise, making its plot even more curious.

Skeleton Crew is confirmed to be set five years later Return of the Jedijoining the likes of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fettand Ahsoka in being between the original trilogy and the sequel trilogy. This is particularly interesting because It’s unclear what connections this show might have to the state of the galaxy at the moment. This was an extremely volatile period in Star Wars universe, as the Empire had just fallen, the New Republic was in the process of uniting and the Imperial remnants had to be dealt with.

It is known that this group of children will get lost, but the plot is very vague. So far, it also doesn’t appear to include any Force-sensitive characters, although with Star Warsthis is perfectly possible. That could mean a cameo from none other than Luke Skywalker. Perhaps, however, Skeleton Crew will be truly separate from the Skywalker Saga, as Andor he was.

Skeleton Crew coincides with the Mandalorian era

According to Lucasfilm, Skeleton Crew is “simultaneous” with The Mandalorian and Ahsoka – but it’s worth noting that the studio refuses to clarify anything further. This could also mean a connection with large Star Wars characterssince presumably the fact that both shows start in the exact same year could mean a crossover. It could also simply mean that the studio wants to avoid the problems seen with The Mandalorian Season 3, where contradictory comments about placement caused a lot of confusion.

There may be even more direct thematic connections. A new Skeleton Crew the photo showed a Ahsoka tie-in, with Jude Law’s mysterious Jedi investigating runes written on an ancient form of ur-Kittât. Ahsoka revealed this language originating from the extragalactic planet Peridea; Star Wars: Skeleton Crew It’s confirmed to be set on the edge of the galaxy, so there could be even more ties.
