DC Just Gave Me a Superman vs. Lex Luthor Match I Never Thought Would Be Possible

Superman and Lois pits Lex Luthor and the DC hero against each other in an even fight that I never thought would be possible in the series due to the Man of Steel’s considerable powers. Over the course of its four seasons, Superman and Lois did right by Superman in terms of showing off his immense powers, but also consolidating them when possible. As such, despite having his heart ripped out in Superman and Lois The Season 4 premiere and later being replaced by a human took a toll on Clark, he was still shown as being able to take on any normal human with ease.

Not surprisingly, however, Superman and Lois Season 4 Episode 6 proves that Lex Luthor is not what you would classify as any normal human being, with the villain laying out a plan to neutralize Clark’s powers in order to level the playing field. While this initially appears to reveal another of his trademark elaborate traps for the Kent family to fight against, something very different actually ends up happening in the live-action Superman show: namely, a brutal fight between Superman and his nemesis, set in the proper punk rock tunes of IDLES’ “When the Lights Go Out.”

Never thought Superman and Lois would have Lex Luthor and Superman just fighting with each other

Seeing Superman and Lex Luthor in a fight without powers wasn’t on my bingo card for the show

Superman and Lois Season 4, Episode 6 allows Lex Luthor and Superman to fight in a simple, no-holds-barred physical fight by having Luthor set up the street lights in which they have their confrontation to turn red light energy into their signal, thus taking away the powers of the Man of Steel. However, Clark is not discouraged by losing his superhuman abilities, and in fact, being rendered without his super strength seems to encourage him to give it his all.with the pair exchanging pretty intense punches, and Kent at one point putting Lex through a car window for good measure.

The battle ends with Clark – now in the process of choking Luthor – noticing his family and leaving Lex, now beaten, to cause no further harm. It’s a scene that works to add a nice note of action to the series, while also proving that Clark doesn’t need his powers to beat Luthor in an even fight, even if Superman shows considerable guilt for his actions afterwards.

While it seemed possible – or even a little inevitable – that the two would have some sort of physical confrontation, the nature of Superman’s powers made it seem like this would just have to be a battle between Superman and a Lex-controlled Doomsday. or a version of Lex with some form of technical or chemical upgrade to his own skill set. As such, seeing the two simply beat each other up was a surprise – albeit an emotional surprise, to be sure.

Superman & Lois’ Lex Luthor vs. Superman fight showed a different side of the show’s hero

Letting Superman fight Lex allows us to see Clark in a different, more human way.

Superman flying in the skies

Superman and Lois follows a version of Clark Kent who is as traditionally restrained and moral as you might expect from an iteration of the character that directly adapts the comical Man of Steel’s intensely kind and compassionate nature, being a deeply caring husband, father, and friend. since he is a brave superhero. The show’s Clark has been a hero for over a decade since the first episode, and it’s clear that his extensive career has only further solidified his desire to do the right thing.

Of course, this time also reinforced the lessons Clark learned about controlling himself and his powers, which he learned in his youth and which he has repeatedly tried to instill in his children regarding the responsibility that super abilities guarantee. As such, we usually see a version of Superman who is constantly keeping himself in check – which is a big part of what makes his total struggle in Superman and Lois Season 4, episode 6 even more specialas Clark knows he doesn’t need to hold back like he normally would against a human combatant.

Seeing this intense anger and the intense violence that follows gives an idea of how angry Clark is about everything he and his loved ones have been through in the season so far – with Lex’s attempt to murder Lana Lang seemingly being the final straw. . Likewise, it also seems to provide a glimpse into how grueling the years of his superhero career were and being wary of those who were actively trying to kill him, further providing a fully three-dimensional look at the hero in the series’ final episode. chapter.

The 4th season of Superman and Lois has already prepared the second fight between Lex Luthor and Superman

Superman & Lois Season 4 Episode 6 Ending Makes Lex Vs Clark Round 2 Feel Imminent

Lex Luthor appearing off-screen in Superman & Lois

Superman and Lois made sure to immediately deliver for those of us who already want more when it comes to Superman and Lex Luthor fighting each other, as the end of episode 6 directly sets up another round for the hero and villain. Lex’s ally Amanda visits him after the fight between him and Clark, and tells Luthor that he was handling his conflict with Lois and Superman the wrong way, stating that they need to get a “killer suit” for their future confrontations.

However, this seems to set up the show adapting Lex’s Iron Man-style warsuit. Since the comic book suit is specifically made to resist Superman’s Kryptonian skill set, it stands to reason that the show’s version of the suit will be able to do so as well, making Luthor capable of taking on not only Clark, but likely his sons as well – and Steel and Starlight, if that really makes Lex the series’ final villain for the heroes to deal with.

Although there is plenty of time for many more twists to emerge Superman and Lois – and it’s still entirely possible that Doomsday will return at some point as friend or foe, which will vastly shift the balance of powers, whichever the case may be – the stage already appears to be completely set for a rematch between Superman and Luthor which is even riskier than the first fight. Hopefully any subsequent battles will match or surpass the standard set by the exciting brawl between the duo in Superman and Lois season 4, episode 6.
