Spider-Man is shown a possible future where Spider-Man did not avoid his destiny to become the King in Black. In this twisted future, Peter uses his webbing to hold a crumbling universe together, trying his best to protect whoever he can, even if he has to use lethal force to do so.
This dark fate has resulted in several former friends and family, including his own daughter, rising against him to try to remove Peter’s iron grip on the universe. Unfortunately, Peter’s power is much too great, and he ends up Slaughter all of his friends and remaining family in a brutal fashion. Peter tried to create a universe full of structure and order, and all he ended up doing was killing those closest to him.

It’s no secret that Peter Parker is immensely important to the Marvel Universe. Time and time again, Peter is at the center of everything, and his existence really matters. He’s one of Marvel’s greatest heroes, so it’s surprising that he seems Destined to become his greatest villainAs confirmed by Eventuality, a god-like version of Venom who seems to know everything related to the symbiote’s past and future. Eventually, it says that if Peter never gave up the Venom symbiote, he would become the next King in Black.

The future was avoided when Peter managed to free himself from the Venom symbiote, rejecting it and also, unknowingly, rejecting the terrible future that awaited him. Instead, the fate passed to Eddie Brock, who was the next Venom boss. Although Peter certainly didn’t mean to do it, it seems he doomed Eddie to the fate he managed to avoid. Visions of the future have shown that Eddie Brock will eventually go on a genocidal rampage across the universeBegging to be killed and freed from the king in black role that Peter reluctantly condemned him to.

It seems that no one can be as happy as the king in black. Knull tried to end all light in the universe to escape his responsibilities. When Peter becomes the King in Black, he ends up killing the majority of his friends while trying to maintain a sense of order and peace in the universe. When Eddie Brock becomes the King in Black, far in the future, he goes on a rampage across the universe, killing everything he comes across. While Spider-Man escaped this terrible fate, he may have just condemned Eddie Brooke in his place.
