Entertainment Weekly has now shared an exclusive clip of the upcoming Fraser Season 2 episode “The Squash Courtship of Freddy’s Father,” which is set to premiere on Thursday, October 10. The clip sees Frasier meeting with his former agent Bebe Glaser (Harriet Sansom Harris) and her daughter Phoebe (Rachel Bloom). He and Phoebe share a variety of unique characteristicsIncluding their fashion sense and a love of Cole Porter, which leads them to perform an impromptu duet of Something goes“You are the top.” Watch the clip below:
What this clip means for Frasier
Phoebe May be Fraser Crane’s daughter
In addition to allowing both Bloom (who co-created and starred in the musical comedy series Crazy ex-girlfriend) and Crane to show off their musical theater chops, this clip Strongly implies that Bloom’s character Phoebe is secretly Frasier’s daughter. While Bebe does not let on that she may be fully aware of this fact, she does express being mystified about the way her daughter dresses and behaves. In fact, she responds to her daughter’s antics in a similar way as she responds to Fraser’s own behavior.
Another clue that Bloom’s character in the upcoming Fraser Season 2 episode is actually his daughter is the fact that her name is Phoebe, which seems to be A portmanteau of Fraser and Bebe’s names. This could be a subtle hint from the writers or a major misdirect that leads to a big punchline at the end of the episode where Phoebe’s real father is revealed.
Our take on the New Fraser clip
Phoebe’s Parentage Remains A Mystery
Ultimately, it remains to be seen if Phoebe Glazer is actually related to the show’s title character. However, one sign that she can’t is the fact that Bloom has only joined the Fraser Cast as a guest star. Unless the producers are considering making her a recurring character later on, it seems It is unlikely that a short-term character would have such a profound impact On the ongoing storyline. Additionally, as underlined by Freddy’s personality, the characters in the universe of the show typically do not grow like their parents.
Fraser Season 2 airs on Paramount+ on Thursday.
