The upcoming series is set to be a dark character exploration, digging into Kwannon’s past stories, past relationships and identity apart from Betsy Braddock. The X-Men are famous for their messy love affairs, and Psylocke is no exception, with Wong telling AIPT That The series won’t just give Psylocke a love story. It will give you a complete love triangle:

“I’m also a big fan of love triangles and relationship drama. There’s a certain character that I’ve never written before that I’m very excited to write that will stir up a lot of trouble on that front.”

It is assumed that Psylocke and John Greycrow’s hellions Romance. Will provide one of the storylines, but the “love triangle” has many speculating who the second mystery love interest could be. Turn to your comic book history to see who is most likely to stir up said conflict.

Greycrow will return in Psylocke’s new solo comic series

Lovers Greycrow and Psylocke Reunite, (But There’s Trouble in Paradise)

Like Psylocke, Greycrow has a dark history with past mistakes and violence, but it was Kwannon who convinced him that he could make strides to be good. During their time together on the Hellions team, the two began a budding romance and their relationship has only continued to blossom until now X-Men Run. in X-Men #5 by Jed Mackay and Ryan Stegman It is revealed that Psylocke and Greycrow have reunited in Antarctica.

While the pair have seemingly rekindled their love story, Wong teases that there will be a new rift between them as Greycrow has resorted to his former life of crime:

“I think he and Psylocke have this really interesting relationship dynamic that I love. It’s based on this mutual understanding of what it means to be used by other people. To have to do these terrible big acts of violence. And then the burden of Dealing with that and the guilt that comes with it and finding someone who understands what you’ve been through and your trauma is really hard, especially if it’s something like this, so the fact that they have that in common means that they can Being understanding and patient with each other on that front, which I love.

“But there’s also the split between them – they want different things. She’s an X-Men, he’s still pulling cons. She lives in the Factory, the X-Men’s base, and he lives in the isolated Alaskan wilderness, By choice. She has a duty and he has freedom how do you bridge that gap, and most importantly, you want to live the separate life as Jed Mackay said when we talked Psylocke a while ago stay and he can’t go.”

Angel could be a complicated love interest for Psylocke

Angel was with Betsy Braddock, but what about Kwannon herself?

Warren Worthington is torn between the aesthetics of his X-Men persona Angel and his apocalyptic persona Archangel.

Technically, one of Psylocke’s longest-running relationships is with Angel, aka Warren Worthington III (with a major catch). Psylocke and Warren share a similar experience of battling over their minds, with Betsy and Kwannon’s identities merging together into one form, and Warren becoming Apocalypse’s Knight of Death, Archangel. The two had an on-and-off relationship that didn’t rekindle, but Wong’s comment about revisiting Psylocke’s past could hint at a possible return.

Although Psylocke and Angel are a familiar pairing, Angel’s direct interactions with Kwannon (not Betsy) have been few and far between. Consider this unexplored dynamic, Reuniting Psylocke and Angel would be an interesting internal battle for Kwannon. Establishing Kwannon’s feelings for Warren would be a fascinating way to separate her identity from Betsy Braddock.

Psylocke has a flirtatious history (and more) with Cable

Nathan Summers’ clones further complicate the issue

Psylocke flirts with Cable on X-Force

Cable and Psylocke teamed up during Si Spurriel X-Force run and at this time, Psylocke expressed an attraction to Cable and openly flirted with the time-traveling cyborg. During their time together on X-Force, Cable had put his body into cryostasis and was constantly cloning himself (to prevent an injection of super-soldier serum that turned him into a ticking time bomb). During this arc, it is revealed that Psylocke has a physical relationship with him as a clone.

The pairing is not fully explored or found, so it may be touched on in the future, possibly in Psylocke’s solo series. more complicated things, Both the new and old versions of Cable are technically in play, meaning each version of Cable has the potential to appear.. There was no mention of Cable and Psylocke reuniting, but Cable’s ability to clone himself and time travel would be endless drama (as time travel and cloning often do).

Will Cyclops play a romantic role in Psylocke’s series?

Jean Gray is used to frosty competition, but is Psylocke next?

Cable isn’t the only Summers to have a history with Psylocke, as a strange but also relevant contender is Cyclops himself. X-Men fans know Cyclops and Jean Gray know love triangles, they encountered with Wolverine, Emma Frost and Madeline Prior. But Scott’s dynamic with Psylocke once caused tension between the team when, in 1991 X-Men #20, Psylocke made strong advances towards Cyclops which earned the contempt of Jean Grey. Cyclops finally resists, but the situation escalates into an intense fight between Kwannon and Jean, resulting in Psylocke’s mind being completely reset to Betsy Braddock.

Even if the two don’t break old romantic wounds, Cyclops’ leadership may cause an unintentional rift between Psylocke and Greycrow, sending her on missions for the X-Men. Alyssa Wong made it clear that Psylocke’s solo series will explore a darker side to Kwannon’s character and her relationships, both romantic and otherwise, but the mystery remains: who will be part of Psylocke’s upcoming love triangle? Looking at Psylocke’s array of past relationships and storylines, the possibilities for how her highly anticipated solo series will play out are endless.

Psylocke #1 Will be available November 13, 2024 from Marvel Comics.
