The Golden Bachelor‘s Theresa Nist marked Breast Cancer Awareness Month by sharing a commercial she starred in years ago.
TeresaThe last update was quite a shock because The Golden Bachelor Winner revealed that she was an actor at one point in her life. In a post about Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Theresa admitted that in the 1990s, she was “Dabbling in local commercials as a hobby.” A casting director offered her a role if she was able to jump over hurdles. Before accepting, Teresa went outside and put two empty garbage cans on her lawn, got a tree branch to put across the bins and tried to jump. Her several Tried, but she eventually got it.
Theresa’s daughter Jen Woolston, who was 7, gave her the motivation to accept The proposal. She asked Jen, “Do I look like I can do this?– replied her daughter,Yes, mother! You look good!“So she finally took the job. However, Teresa still wasn’t sure if she was confident enough to jump over the hurdles, so she asked that the hurdles at the school where the commercial was filmed be left out so she could practice that night on the day of filming, “.Everyone was holding their breath waiting to see if I could actually jump over the hurdles.”
When the ads are eventually arranged, A lot of people asked Theresa if the video was “Digitally enhanced“To make it seem like she was jumping over the hurdles. Theresa included a video of the business in her Instagram post, which the narrator said people had busy lives with, with phrases like “Grocery shopping,” “Business lunch“and”PTA meeting” On the hurdles, and Teresa jumped over them. The narrator admitted that it is difficult to keep track of his health, even when there is a high risk of breast cancer.
With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month I couldn’t help but try to find this video I was asked to do about 30 years ago. It brings back so many memories for me, especially 90s hairdos and me being a young mom dabbling in local commercials as a hobby. One day I received a call to ask if I could jump over very, very low hurdles.” I asked how high and for what purpose? 3 1/2 feet. Breast Cancer Awareness. Okay, wonderful, but that was a regulation sized hurdle and I’d never jumped over a hurdle before. They sent another woman the week before but when she got there she couldn’t do it. And the casting director was about to lose the account if she couldn’t produce a hurdler in my age range. So, I told her I would call her back. I went outside, placed two empty garbage cans on my front lawn, found a tree limb, placed it over, and proceeded to try. About this “star”. Jen was about seven years old at the time. I tried and tried and tried until I finally succeeded. But do I look like I can really do it? I asked Jenny “Do I look like I can do this?” And with her sweet little voice she exclaimed “Yes, mother! You look good! ” So, I called them back and told them I could do it. But, to be sure, I also called the athletic director at the school where the commercial was produced and asked him to leave the hurdles out that night. I went there and practiced it until I got it right. I showed up the day of the shoot and everyone was holding their breath waiting to see if I could really jump over the hurdles. I did and everyone applauded and shouted in relief “We have a hurdler!” It was played so many times, which was so wonderful for breast cancer awareness, but when my son Tommy and I watched it later (they did it in black and white to drive the point home) we couldn’t believe it was actually Me on the screen hurdling. In fact, everyone I know asked me if it was somehow digitally enhanced to just make it look like I was hurdling. But, yes, it really was me doing it and I’m so glad I was able to do it for such a good cause.
