Danny’s storyline in Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 13 makes me think I’m worrying about the wrong Reagan

Notice! Spoilers ahead for Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 13.The latest developments for Blue Blood’ Danny Reagan suggests that I have been worrying about the fate of the wrong Reagan. Over the past fourteen years, Reagan’s iconic dinners at Blue Blood I made this fictional clan feel like part of my real family. Unfortunately, CBS canceled Blue Bloodwhich means the series must wrap up each member’s story, and there is a possibility that some characters’ stories could end on a disappointing note.

There were persistent rumors about a possible death in Blue Blood’ series finale since the show’s cancellation was announced. These theories make sense from the standpoint that the ending needs to make it clear that the show is over, and the main character’s death would achieve that goal. While I wait Blue Blood it doesn’t go in that direction, there is the death of a character who makes more sense than the others. However, the events of Blue Blood Season 14, episode 13 cast doubt on that possibility, suggesting that another character could meet a heartbreaking end.

Henry’s Death Theory, Blue Bloods Finale, Explained

The series seemed to be dropping big hints that the patriarch’s days were numbered

Henry seemed the most likely candidate for death before the final half of Blue Blood season 14 has begun. He is in his 80s and has had several health problems in the past, including a heart attack during one of his Blue Blood’ best episodes and a prostate cancer scare. Henry is important to all members of the Reagan family, but often plays a peripheral role, which would make his death heartbreaking while also leaving the door open for other characters to return for a spinoff or reunion film in the future.

The CBS procedural also seemed to hint at Henry’s fate. Blue Blood Season 14 Episode 11 included Henry commenting that Jack Boyle would be fighting with the family “until I die”, which could have been a foreshadowing of his death. I became even more convinced that Henry would die at the end of the series when the next episode featured him asking for a “living vigilat the family dinner table, explaining that he would rather the family express their love and praise him while he was alive to hear it than wait until he died.

While the wake could have been nostalgic closure for his character near the end of the series, it wasn’t connected to any of the storylines in the Blue Bloods episode.

This discussion of Henry’s mortality and the need to honor him in a way reserved only for the dead, especially when coupled with the previous week’s lineage, were strong clues about Henry’s potential fate. While the wake could have been intended as nostalgic closure for his character near the end of the series, it was not connected to any of the Blue Blood episode plots. Thus, it seemed like it was added for the sole purpose of telegraphing Henry’s imminent death.

Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 13 Suggests Danny Will Die, Not Henry

Henry is always aggressive, while Danny seems worn out

Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) at a crime scene in Blue Bloods

Blue Blood Season 14 Episode 13 is one of the few Season 14 episodes to give Henry a storyline. He spent most of the episode butting heads with Erin, who is annoyed that he is testifying for the defense in a case involving a former police officer accused of killing someone with a chokehold. At the end, Henry proves he’s as aggressive as ever when he uses his time on the stand to destroy the defense’s argument rather than support it.

Whether his exhaustion is physical, psychological, or both, Danny doesn’t have his usual energy, which is worrying.

On the other hand, Danny looks worn out throughout the Blue Blood episodewhich makes me worried about his future. Although Danny is still relatively young, he is having difficulty climbing a few flights of stairs to get to the crime scene and appears very tired throughout the episode. He later implies that his exhaustion is psychological, commenting “Maybe it’s not my knees that are worn out.” Whether his exhaustion is physical, psychological, or both, Danny doesn’t have his usual energy, which is worrying.

How Danny’s Current Situation Could Be Setting Up His Tragedy

Danny’s exhaustion could be fatal in many ways

Danny is one of the police’s sharpest detectives, but exhaustion can dull his instincts. If his problem is more serious, he is more likely to make a fatal mistake, which could lead to him being injured in the line of duty. While this seems plausible, I hope the series doesn’t end on this note. The death of Blue Blood’ Joe Reagan, before the series began, was already painful enough for the Reagans, and it would be painful for the show to end with them losing their brother in the same way.

Unfortunately, Danny’s energy level during Blue Bloods Season 14, Episode 13 suggests this is a possibility.

I would prefer if Blue Blood ended with Danny deciding to retire because he’s burnt out. However, his exhaustion suggests he could have a medical problem that could lead to tragedy. It would be a heartbreaking ending if the series killed off one of its most popular characters in the final hours. Unfortunately, Danny’s energy level during Blue Blood season 14, episode 13 suggests this is a possibility.

A police procedural set in New York City, Blue Bloods follows the lives of the Irish-American Reagan family, who have a strong family history and current powerful roles in the New York Police Department.
