Mass EffectThe annual N7 Day holiday, N7 Day, is quickly approaching, which is starting to create excitement in the community about what hints about the next project might be revealed this time around. If BioWare has any updates to give about the next Mass Effect games, which received some teases, such as the revelation that Liara will be involved in the game to some extent, the information is likely to be released on N7 Day. At the very least, there’s usually some sort of recognition from BioWare on N7 Day, even if that’s limited to some art rather than updates.
After Andromeda difficult launch, BioWare is returning to the original trilogy by connecting Mass Effect 4 for more recognizable characters and locations. Contrary to previous beliefs, Mass Effect 4 the timeline placement could be closer to the end of the prequel trilogy rather than including a huge timeline jump, which would be an easy way to use a new protagonist and have Shepard remembered as a legend. Now, the hope is that BioWare will release another trailer, or at least more footage, to ME4 to celebrate N7 Day.
What is Mass Effect Day N7 (and when)
A celebration of the Mass Effect universe
N7 Day takes place on November 7th each year and is a celebration of Mass Effect based on the N7 designation Shepard holds in the Military Alliance special forces. Every year, the community comes together to celebrate the world of Mass Effect and all the parts they love, whether it’s replaying games, sharing art and other creations, or simply spreading love for a franchise that has a special place in their hearts. As a result, BioWare often posts about MY on Day N7 to at least recognize the community.
What to expect from Mass Effect’s N7 Day 2024
There will be no innovative information
BioWare is unlikely to reveal anything too big this year for N7 Day, as a launch window for Mass Effect 4. However, another short teaser for the game could be a possible option, or some official artwork of locations that will be included in the game. It could also be that BioWare doesn’t have a teaser for ME4 to release at the moment, but there could be a collaboration or crossover event to reveal. Another possibility would be more side games, like Mass Effect: Hagalaz Prioritybeing revealed.
Recent years have included sales in Mass Effect games for N7 Day, limited-time merchandise drops, and crossover events such as Mass Effect items being added to The Sims 4 in 2022. However, there have been years when BioWare has revealed a teaser image, such as the mysterious figure wearing an N7 coat, or the 30-second trailer for Mass Effect from last year. Armed with knowledge from previous years, you are likely to BioWare may reveal another crossover, a new character, or a new location appearing in ME4.
What we expect from N7 Day 2024
A fan’s unrealistic expectations
My unrealistic N7 Day wish list has a few major items I don’t expect to see from BioWare this year, but I’d be pleasantly surprised if I’m proven wrong. The best reveal for N7 Day would be a release window to Mass Effect 4. A release date probably won’t be revealed anytime soon, and while a window is a little more likely, I still don’t expect to see one this year. The other big reveal I would love to see would be whether there would be more characters returning from the original trilogy.
Of course, I’d love to know whether Shepard will return in a significant way for the next game, which appears to be the start of a new trilogy. The image of someone wearing an N7 coat seems like a reference to Shepard, who is the most iconic N7 in the series. However, when it comes to Shepard, I don’t expect us to get information on his status until the next game actually comes out, especially since keeping him a mystery keeps interest in the game.
N7 Day is approaching and it’s exciting to think about what BioWare could reveal about the next game. However, it’s unlikely that a big reveal will come this year, especially if BioWare isn’t rushing development of the ME4 in the same way as Andromeda it was rushed. Ultimately, N7 Day is at least a time for the community to come together and share everything they love Mass Effecteven without big teasers of new content.
