THE “Skyrim Pets” mission adds five different animal companions you can make friends throughout your adventure. Each has its own name, strengths, and weaknesses that you should consider when thinking about having one with you on a quest or dungeon diving. Here are all the different pets you can get Skyrim:

Pet’s name

Type of animal

Hilda

Packed goat

sweet roll

Fox

Thistle

Rabbit

Arachnia

Frozen Spider

Skritch

Skeever

The pack goat is the first animal you should acquire in Skyrim pets search. However, you are free to get the remaining four in whatever order you wish, after finding the first one in the “Skyrim Pets” search.

Some pets are better to have as fighting companions, while others are great for gathering resources. You might just want to have all the pets to liven up your home whenever you return from a particularly tiring adventure. No matter why you want to get a pet, the tasks required to obtain one can be quite simple or require several steps.

Hilda, the first animal companion of this Skyrim Creation mod, can be purchased from Halvara farmer in Rorikstead, for 200 gold. She comes pre-equipped with an Animal Pack that allows her to carry a total of 140 points in Carry Weight. Occasionally, you will also be able to collect milk from her.

Hilda’s Milk can be used in Potions as an ingredient to make certain types of Elixirs. Hilda is not good for combat, as she should mainly be used to transport treasures that you find in larger dungeons that your character explores. Hilda may be a mobile storage unit, but be careful not to let the animal get caught in the crossfire of your clashes with dragons or other dangerous creatures.

Once you get Hilda as a companion, you can progress through the Skyrim Pets” mission reading Halvar’s Diary lying in a sleeping bag near his pen. This diary of sorts describes the other four types of animals you can befriend, allowing you to encounter each of them in different areas.

Luckily, you only need one Sweet Roll to tame this fox, so it’s one of the easiest companions to live with right from the start. Similar to Hilda, Sweet Roll is fragile and should only be used to sniff out treasures you may have missed. Sweet Roll is the perfect companion to have after clearing out a bandit camp or small cave to find out what other items you might have passed by.

Depending on how many points you have invested in the Alchemy skill tree, Thistle’s skills can be useful for your character. Some of the most broken glitches in Skyrim involve manipulating the Alchemy system, but it can be difficult to farm ingredients in the open world setting. With Thistle, it’s much easier to gather items around that are easy to lose as you walk through various environments.
