What the digital release date means for Reagan
Reagan had a lackluster box office performance
Reign was originally released in theaters on August 30. The fact that it will have been a theatrical exclusive until its electronic sell-through release date is notable in that it means that Reign is given a decent shot in theaters. While the number of screens playing Reign has decreased with time, the gap between its theatrical release and digital release is more than bigger name films such as The wild robot. This is somewhat surprising, granted Reign is not immensely profitable. At the time of writing, the film has Earned $29.3 million worldwide.

That said, Reign Has always come out as a fan favorite despite the odds. ReignCritical reviews are terrible, because the film holds a 18% Tomatometer among critics. The audience was much more responsive, however, as Reign Has a 98% popcorn meter. The dissonance between the scores of the audience and the critics may similarly indicate more surprises to come in the success story of the film. For example, this could mean that Reign Will do well during its digital release despite underperforming at the box office.
Reagan is part of a year of political films
2024 saw the release of many films about political figures
Reign Released at a fascinating release time considering other Hollywood releases and broader political events. Not only is 2024 an election year in the United States, but it’s also a year that saw the release of the political thriller Civil war As well as the mixed-reviewer Donald Trump biographical film The Apprentice. I can’t help but think that ReignThe company’s divisiveness has something to do with its politics, but in any case, it is part of a lot of interestingly paired 2024 releases in what is already a politically heated year.
