Gigantamax Pokémon confirmed for Pokémon GO, arriving this October

The Pokémon Company and Niantic have partnered to bring the revelation of Gigantamax Pokémon smashing into Pokémon GO In just a few short weeks. During this limited-time event, players can take on Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise in their most sizable form.

In a recent post from The Pokemon Company The official press site, fans learned that the massive Gigantamax Pokémon will make their debut on October 26, bringing new mechanics to the Dynamax feature that was introduced earlier this year. The new encounters will not be for the faint of heart, as Gigantamax Pokémon will be much more challenging than the other Dynamax PokémonWho can change their size and appearance with action.

In a new trailer released by the developers, fans get a taste of what to expect from this limited-time event. It is said that the new additions will be the biggest challenges yet for players to get inside Pokémon GO!And players will group up with up to 39 other users to take down these monstrosities.

For participating in the new events, players will also Have the chance to catch some of the Gigantamax Pokemon as their ownAdding even more rewards to the table. Trainers who are level 13 or higher will also gain access to the “To the Max” special research, which will lead players to encounter Dynamax Pokemon to use to bring down even greater threats that are advancing.

The random encounters will need to be sought out by trainers, and according to the developers, Power spots cannot appear in the same location twice. This means fans will need to traverse the real world in hopes of finding and defeating—and hopefully capturing—Gigantamax Pokémon. Capturing the Gigantamax Pokemon will also allow players to take down even more powerful Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokemon, leading to a Pokédex filled to the brim with powerful Pokemon.

In terms of how the new battles work, the Pokémon GO! Live website says:

  • In a max battle, tap the screen to use quick attacks and build up energy to use charged attacks as usual. Attacking will also fill the meter at the top of the screen.

  • Keep an eye on the meter! Once it’s full, your Pokemon will Dynamax or Gigantamax for three turns!

  • Swipe to avoid the attacks of the Power Spot Boss. A dot will appear over your Pokemon if it’s targeted, so be ready to dodge!

  • If you find energy icons on the battlefield, swipe to move your Pokemon to collect them and fill your meter even faster!

  • If all your Pokemon are weak when you battle, you can still help! You can tap the screen until you can cheer for your teammates, which will fill their meter faster.

Fans will not only be able to defeat these monstrosities, but they can cheer others on if they fail during battle to help defeat the Pokemon in question for hefty rewards. The event will last from October 26, 10:00 a.m. to October 27, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time, meaning those who want to take the final challenge inside. Pokémon GO! Will have a very short window to do so.
