fans of Spy X Family Can be fun debating which of the story’s two main characters, Loid and Yor, is stronger. Although both displayed impressive physical and mental skills, Yor would undoubtedly have the upper hand in a fight. Despite her work as a cold-hearted killer, she has proven time and time again how caring and protective she can be, even with those she has just met. This is one of the main differences between her and her husband, the world’s greatest spy, Agent Twilight.
While Yoor sees the people around her as precious members of her life Whom she must protect, Lloyd sees them as tools to achieve his goals. It is this significant difference in perspective that most likely turned Yor into such a powerful fighter. She allows her love for others to encourage her, instead of repressing it like Lloyd does.
Yor’s strength relies on her deep love for her family
She started working and training to protect her brother
In chapter #53 of the Spy X Family Manga, Yoor is seen fighting against a pair of experienced assassins who are trying to kill Olka, a woman she was tasked to protect. At one point in the fight, Anya’s mother is badly hurt, prompting her to believe that she will soon die. When her consciousness fades, the image of her younger brother, the deceptively strong secret police officer Yuri Briar, comes into her mind. She remembered the reason she had decided to become an assassin in the first place, to protect her brother and give him A happy life.
Yar then remembers her husband and daughter, who are now dear people, for whom she is ready to fight. The image of her new family gave her strength back To defeat the opponents and reunited with her loved ones. This small but iconic moment in Yor’s story is proof of the immense love and care she has for Lloyd and Anya. She loves them so much, she can recover from near-fatal attacks and keep fighting just to see them once again. For Yor, emotions and connections are not weaknesses, but rather massive strengths.
Her motivation seems to be the exact opposite of Lloyd’s, who has said several times in the past that He considers feeling as an obstacle. For Agent Twilight, Anya and Year are not loved ones he should protect from all danger, because he convinces himself that they are just tools to achieve his goals. While his attitude has changed over time, with him slowly letting down the walls and allowing himself to take care of his family, he still holds back on his true feelings.
Lloyd’s inability to accept his feelings holds him back
The moments in which he fights for his family are his best
Agent Twilight is known as the world’s greatest spy for his various impressive skills that help him easily overcome any obstacle. One of his most defining traits is his willingness to go to any lengths to ensure that his missions succeed. The first time he appeared in the series, he pretended to be the partner of a prominent politician’s daughter just to complete his mission. His behavior is understandable once his truly horrific and tragic past comes into play. Lloyd refuses to be attached due to his fear of losing his loved ones again.
Despite his noble goal of stopping Donovan and preventing a new war from breaking out, his actions make it clear that he no longer sees people as people. His deep-seated trauma has led him to other than tools he can use when needed. Unlike Yor, who became strong by basking in her deep love for others, Lloyd suppressed his emotions and focused on increasing his physical and mental skills. When you compare their fights, it’s clear that Lloyd may be more skilled than Yor, but he’s still weak at times.
The times in which fans have seen Lloyd demonstrate true power are those in which he fights to save his family. In Chapter #1, he manages to defeat an entire battalion of enemy combatants just to keep Anya safe. When his wife and daughter were insulted by the unlikeable Murdoch Swann during the events of Chapter 5, Lloyd destroyed a table with a single punch, demonstrating a power that could have rivaled Yore’s. By surprising his emotions, Lloyd also unconsciously held back his true power. Her honesty and caring heart undoubtedly makes her stronger than her husband.
Spy X FamilyAgent Twilight may not be ready yet to open his heart and accept the love he feels for his family. Still, the fact that his main motivation is preventing children from suffering implies that he’s not as kind-hearted as he seems. Once he allows himself to accept and prove his feelings, Lloyd can become as strong as Yor.
