Transformers makes Bumblebee and Elita almost as special as Optimus Prime

Warning: this article contains spoilers for Transformers OneMore than just an origin story for Optimus Prime and Megatron, Transformers One it also places considerable focus on other characters, specifically Elita-1 and Bumblebee. Transformers One received rave reviews since its release, being considered one of the best films in the world. Transformers franchise. Much of this acclaim naturally stems from the treatment of several iconic Transformers characters, some of whom were largely ignored by the films. Elita is a prime example of this.

One of the best parts of the film is finally seeing the origin of Optimus Prime on the big screen, reinforced by the excellent voice work of the Transformers One cast. Optimus isn’t the only character whose beginnings we see, however, as the origins of Elita-1, a new Transformer so far not seen in theaters, and Bumblebee, are shown alongside those of Optimus Prime. They are important characters Transformers One as a film, but also for the lore of the universe, and one aspect of their beginnings makes them almost as important as Optimus Prime himself.

In Transformers OneOptimus Prime and Megatron receive their transformation gears from Alpha Trion, who strips them of the dead Elder Primes, which eventually leads to their final confrontation. However, Elita and Bumblebee, despite not being the central duo, also receive gear from the Primes. These transformation gears are very special and clearly not very common in the world. Transformers universe, like the only person outside of the old Elder Primes and the new group of heroes who has one is Sentinel Primewho demonstrated that he took his from Megatronus Prime.

Despite the great importance of Megatron and Optimus Prime to Cybertron, the fact that Elita and Bumblebee were given the same power cannot be forgotten. Sentinel Prime explains to Megatron that he took Megatronus’ gear because he was the strongest, giving Sentinel the same strength. When Megatron removes the gear from the Sentry’s body, its power increases, further showing that a gear’s strength depends on where it came from. By this logic, both Bumblebee and Elita are among the strongest Transformers on Cybertron as well, as they also have gears from the most powerful Transformers, the Elder Primes.

Do Bumblebee and Elita’s special T-Cogs make them cousins in Transformers One?

Will we see Elita Prime and Badassatron Prime in the future?

From what is shown in the film, simply having Prime gears is not enough to make them Primes. While Cybertron’s leader Sentinel Prime calls himself Prime, Alpha Trion rebukes this notion, saying he is false even though he carries Megatronus’ gear. Orion Pax himself does not become Optimus Prime when he receives the gear, only after he has proven himself worthy of the Elder Primes and Primus does he receive the title of Prime. Although the gears are powerful, Transformers One shows that they are not what make someone a Prime.

If Bumblebee and Elita can prove themselves in a similar way to Optimus in Transformers Onethey themselves will be able to ascend to the rank of Prime

However, that’s not to say they could never become potential Primes. Transformers One sequelae. While the majority Transformers the media portrays Optimus as the only remaining Prime, clearly there could be several at the same time. If Bumblebee and Elita can prove themselves in a similar way to Optimus in Transformers Onethey themselves can ascend to the rank of Prime, though it is unclear whether they need the blessing of Primus himself, or whether Optimus, as holder of the Matrix of Leadership, can grant that title to them.
