Black Frieza could be Dragon Ball Super’s last chance to give Vegeta his moment to shine

Frieza has been one of Dragon Ball Superof the most recurring and iconic villains since their return during the Resurrection F film. Despite first appearing as a vengeful villain defeated by Goku and Vegeta once again, the galactic tyrant decided to become the series’ most powerful threat when his Black Frieza form was introduced.

The franchise appears to be heading towards a final stand against the genocidal alien, as proven by its direct challenge to the heroes during the controversial Granolah the Survivor saga. This next battle is the perfect opportunity to give Vegeta his deserved revenge against Frieza, a being who took everything from him and has already beaten him several times.

Vegeta needs to be the one to defeat Black Frieza

Vegeta is still waiting for a chance to avenge his race and his planet

After discovering the truth behind the sudden destruction of his home planet, Prince Vegeta swore that he would be the one to kill the perpetrator, Frieza, and avenge his family. During his time on Namek, Goku’s rival did his best to put an end to the galactic tyrant, to no avail, as he was not strong enough to defeat him. Later in the story, his son Trunks ends up being the one who killed Frieza, fulfilling Vegeta’s wish but robbing him of the satisfaction. When the emperor was revived in Dragon Ball Superthe prince’s opportunity to kill him was once again taken from him.

In Resurrection ‘F’Vegeta has the chance to humiliate Frieza by completely dominating him in battle. However, before he can deliver the final blow, Frieza destroys Planet Earth, killing everyone, which forces Whis to bring back time to the moments before that act of destruction. Goku intervenes and kills Frieza with a Kamehameha before he can perform his final act of spite, thus stealing Vegeta’s revenge.

Despite being the most affected by Frieza’s villainous actions, Vegeta never had the option to put an end to him. He even saw Frieza come back to life for the Tournament of Power, and had to accept that. Worst of all, when the villain reappeared during the Granolah Saga, Black Frieza proved to be several times stronger than Vegeta and Kakarot, humiliating them in their strongest forms. However, this imposing new form opens the door for Vegeta to be the one to put a definitive end to Frieza’s reign of terror.

Black Frieza defeats Goku and Vegeta in a single attack.

It’s time for Vegeta to kill or incapacitate the galaxy’s greatest evil, without having to be saved by Goku or watch another warrior take his glory from him. This would also make sense thematically, as the series spent an entire saga showing how much the prince despises Frieza. After decades of making him wait on the sidelines, Vegeta could finally get the closure he was looking for.

Black Frieza will likely be his final form

Frieza returning time after time is no longer new

Frieza is undoubtedly one of the most iconic villains in the Dragon Ball franchise, with his popularity rivaling that of many heroes. Anything featuring the ruthless Galactic Emperor is sure to be a hit with fans, who can’t get enough of watching him fight Goku and his friends again. Despite that, bringing Frieza back has become a trend that is quickly losing its effectiveness. Since his return in Resurrection ‘F’the tyrant keeps appearing in new material.

He was the last fighter recruited by Universe 7 for the Tournament of Power, played a major role in the Broly movie, and is now suggested as the final villain of the Dragon Ball Super manga. The series cannot continue including Frieza to increase enthusiasm among fans as it will become stale after a while. His dark form will likely be the last time he’s seen in the franchise, meaning it will be Vegeta’s last chance to exact revenge on the genocidal tyrant.

The series may finally prove that Vegeta is equal to Goku

Vegeta would no longer need to be saved by Kakarot

Vegeta and Goku face off in the final frames of Dragon Ball Super.

For decades, the rivalry between Goku and Vegeta revolved around proving which Saiyan is stronger. Although the series often portrays the prince as Kakarot’s only equal when a new threat is introduced, Vegeta rarely gets the opportunity to shine. No matter how close Goku and Vegeta are in power, it seems like the latter is constantly underutilized during important fights. Black Frieza would be a perfect opportunity to show how powerful anime’s most iconic rival has become.

Instead of relying on Goku or another new character to save the galaxy, Vegeta could rise to the occasion and be the one to defeat Frieza one last time. He would prove that he is not only as powerful as Kakarot, but also as much of a hero as his rival. It would be an incredible ending to his story and would bring him the closure he had been desperately hoping for since he was a child.

No matter who is tasked with defeating Black Frieza in future chapters of Dragon Ball Superthe inevitable fight with this iconic villain has the potential to be among the best in the franchise. Doing Vegeta The main fighter in this epic battle would be an incredible decision, giving one of the series’ most important characters the respect he deserves.

Dragon Ball Super is a sequel to the original Dragon Ball series, as well as the fan-favorite Dragon Ball Z anime. Dragon Ball Super is set ten years after Majin Buu’s defeat and follows Goku and his friends on new adventures. Just like its predecessors, Dragon Ball Super was praised throughout its 131 episodes.
