The size of the map in Phasmophobia often increases the difficulty of an investigation, as larger maps make it harder to find the ghost and easier to lose sanity, which in turn can cause the ghost to initiate hunts more frequently. The size of a map in Phasmophobia It is usually determined by the number of rooms, with the smallest being 6 Tanglewood Drive, which has just 10, and the largest, Sunny Meadows, which has 69.

How average maps work
Completing the challenge
Only two maps in Phasmophobia are officially classified as “medium” size. These are the Prison camp and Maple Lodge. When the Daily Task to Play a Medium Map appears, these will be the only two maps that will qualify to complete this challenge. The prison has 31 rooms on two floors and is unlocked for players when they reach level 11. The Maple Lodge camp has 28 rooms on two floors and is unlocked for players at level 13.
Medium maps in Phasmophobia generally have more complex layouts than the small house maps or the larger Brownstone High School and Sunny Meadows options. Phasmophobia The Prison Map, for example, has two wings for gridded cell blocks that include an upstairs walkway area, leading to narrower, more claustrophobic spaces through which the ghost can chase players. Maple Lodge is also unique and spacious in that it is mostly outdoors and divided into two tented campsites, a main office building, a bathroom building, and the back lakeside cabin.
Best strategies for playing medium maps
Best tips and tricks
To have more success playing on Medium Maps in PhasmophobiaConsider the following strategies:
Play with a team
Medium maps in Phasmophobia are easier to solve with a group of three or more. More ghost hunters mean more equipment can be brought at once, and players can cover more ground when searching for the ghost’s room at the start of the investigation. If playing with a full group of four, players might consider pairing up, with each pair holding at least one EMF reader, parabolic microphone, or thermometer, and searching the two distinct “zones” of the map. In the Prison, these would be the two cell blocks and the surrounding corridors; at Maple Lodge, it would be the two campsites or the campsites and the cabin.
Learn the layouts
To have the best chance of success on a Medium Map, consider looking at the map in the truck or finding a map image online to learn the general layout, as well as typical Breaker, Cursed Possession, and Hideout locations. Knowing where the circuit breaker is can help you turn on the lights quickly. Cursed Possessions in Phasmophobia can be used to help find the ghost room or gather information, and although hiding places appear randomly and can be blocked depending on the selected difficulty, knowing in general where the safest areas are will help when trying to escape the ghost on a hunt.
Bring the best equipment possible
Gear Phasmophobia It’s now separated into tiers, and players can unlock better gear as they level up. Due to the unique challenges of Medium Maps, selecting a higher tier full loadout is always a good idea. This means that players should plan to bring the maximum allowable number of each piece of equipment they own and at the highest tier currently unlocked. When playing with a squad, use players with access to Tier III equipment to help the investigation run more smoothly.
Make use of loops
When being chased by the ghost in Phasmophobialooping can be a valuable skill when hiding is not an option. Hide only works on Phasmophobia if players can break line of sight with the ghostwhich is not always easy on maps this size. Medium maps provide multiple looping locations that players can target during a chase during a hunt. In Prison, these are around the tables in each cell and cafeteria. At Maple Lodge, good places to loop include around the picnic tables in the picnic area or around any of the fire pits.
To loop effectively, players must keep a smudge stick and a lighter in their inventory at all times and be ready to use them if the ghost unexpectedly changes direction.
Don’t neglect the power of sound
Phasmophobia The Parabolic Microphone can be especially useful on medium and large maps. When you hear it, make large, slow sweeps and follow the sounds with levels II and III to help identify where the ghost may be moving doors or throwing objects. Placing sound sensors in each major area of a medium map and having someone listen from the truck can also be useful for tracking ghosts, and four sound sensors should cover enough ground to be effective.
Stay in the Light
Medium maps have more common “dark rooms,” or rooms in which, even with the lights on, players’ sanity depletes faster than elsewhere on the map. This is especially true at Maple Lodge, which is mostly outdoors and relies on firelight power from campfires or string lights. To maintain their sanity and have time to investigate, players must stay in the light as much as possible.
Staying near a candle or flashlight can help decrease the sanity drain by a small percentage, and turning on lights along the way to the ghost’s room once found is an excellent way to keep sanity up for longer. and prevent the ghost from starting a hunt. very quickly in Phasmophobia.
