MCU Infinity Stones, Ranked By Most Powerful

Classifying the UCM The Infinity Stones, due to their power levels, come with the obvious caveat that possession of any of them in the hands of those who know how to use them is equivalent to omnipotence. If the goal is to exterminate entire populations, each of the stones will be able to achieve that goal in one way or another. It turns out that it takes a while to achieve these goals, while a snap of the fingers is much more efficient. Efficient, at least, for characters that would survive Snap replication.

With that said, the MCU’s Infinity Stones have had limited time and space to display their individual abilities, unlike Marvel Comics’ Infinity Stones. While it’s easy to infer what each could achieve in given circumstances, the power that was explicitly conveyed on screen is all there is to it. With that in mind, it appears that not all Infinity Stones were created equal.

The Soul Stone is the most enigmatic of all stones and arguably capable of much more than was portrayed on screen. Avengers: Infinity War established that the Soul Stone, unlike the others, came with its own bodyguard and a harrowing challenge to face. Red Skull’s claim that the Soul Stone possessed a “special place“among the Infinity Stones also carries sinister connotations that accompany its location and mode of acquisition. The fact is that the full extent of its powers is purely speculative. The Soul Stone likely chose which of the souls to eliminate in the Snap, for example, but evidently he was unable to perform the Snap alone.

What the Soul Stone proved to achieve was the ability to trap souls in a “Soul World“which looks like a pocket dimension of purgatory. While unpleasant, it is not much different from the pocket dimensions that a stoneless Doctor Strange could summon. Incidentally, the second power it proved to exhibit was the ability to locate Doctor Strange’s soul while he was trying to overpower Thanos with illusory duplicates, which is a cool feature, although only in exceptionally specific circumstances.

Instead, it appears that the The main power of the Soul Stone is to influence other stones and form an integral part of a completed Infinity Gauntlet.. In What if…Ultron won? The Guardians of the Multiverse steal Ultron’s Soul Stone and use it to power a machine designed to destroy the Infinity Stones. Red Skull also said he had a “certain wisdom”, making it appear that he occupies a place of authority. Individually, however, it appears to be comparatively lacking in raw power.

Thanos used the Soul Stone twice. Once to complete your mission to destroy half the universe and a second time to destroy the stones. When trying to bring everyone back Avengers: EndgameHulk uses the Soul Stone along with the others to achieve this. Finally, Iron Man uses it to snap Thanos out of existence.

There’s a reason why Thanos didn’t simply use Power Stone during the Battle of Wakanda. The Power Stone is also limited to abilities that other stones can apparently replicate to some extent. While the other stones’ similar abilities don’t compare to the scale of the Power Stone (after all, Ronan the Accuser intended to level an entire planet with it), there are countless ways they could still achieve the same results.

The Power Stone has been used to deliver immense blasts of energy, with individuals without superpowers in the MCU prone to exploding if they handle it without protection. However, there appears to be a limit to the power it provides, as Iron Man’s armor was seen being hit by the rock without immediately exploding. While this could be attributed to Thanos purposely limiting his power, The lack of versatility offered by Power Stone is ultimately what makes it less powerful than other.

Because Power Stone is heavily featured in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1several characters use it throughout the film. The Collector’s slave Carina briefly grabs him but is destroyed. Ronan puts it in his hammer instead of giving it to Thanos in an attempt to exterminate Xandar. Finally, four members of the Guardians of the Galaxy control him (Peter, Drax, Gamora, Rocket).

The Space Stone has received the most fanfare due to its prominence throughout Phase 1 under the guise of the Tesseract. Due to this primary role, the Space Stone has been shown to exhibit a multitude of powers that go beyond the manipulation of space. To name a few, it granted Carol Danvers light-based powers, was used by HYDRA to power devastating weapons, and repaired Asgard’s Rainbow Bridge.. When it finally reached Thanos’ hands (or gauntlet), however, that’s when the Space Stone truly demonstrated what it was capable of.

Complete manipulation of space is no joke, as Thanos showed when he crushed Rhodey’s armor, turned Bruce Banner to solid rock, and threw an entire moon at Iron Man (with the help of the Power Stone). Thanos even created a mini black hole on Titan in his fight with Strange, showing just one way in which the Space Stone could replicate the power of the Power Stone through different means. Of all its abilities, however, the ability to teleport wherever the user wants is somewhat diminished by the presence of spaceships and the Bifrost.

The Space Stone is heavily featured in The Avengersknown as the Tesseract, which Loki steals from Nick Fury and wields the power for himself. After the events of the film, he is returned to Asgard, but is eventually taken by Loki once more before Thanos kills him and puts him in his gauntlet.

Although it is suggested that the other stones appear to have an appearance of sentience, the Mind Stone appears to be in a category of its own, operating as if it were an extremely intelligent sentient mind capable of communicating directly with the Vision. If it weren’t for the fact that the Mind Stone, which granted various powers to Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Vision, has demonstrated similar powers to the Stones of Power and Space, it would likely rank lower. As it stands, the Mind Stone also demonstrated dominance over hearts and minds and was all Ultron needed to destroy Thanos in What if…Ultron won?

The fact that Thanos acquired all the other stones before completing the set with the Mind Stone speaks volumes. If it weren’t for Vision’s weakened state, a team in possession of the Mind Stone would pose a significant threat to Thanos, despite him possessing the other stones. Furthermore, the huge impact that the Mind Stone has had on the MCU – especially for its role in creating two of its most powerful heroes (one of whom can pass through matter) – is what makes the Mind Stone one of the most powerful of the MCU. powerful Infinity Stones.

At one point, Loki was not only wielding the Space Stone, but he also possessed the Mind Stone. Eventually, Tony Stark used the Mind Stone to create Ultron, who then used it to create the Vision. Thanos kills Vision and possesses the Mind Stone.

The individual power of the reality stone was revealed when it took the form of Aether in Thor: The Dark Worldin which Malekith intended to change the structure of the entire universe with his power alone. While Thor: The Dark World may be among the MCU’s worst episodes, it’s difficult to overstate the gravity of its arch-villain’s designs, which Thanos himself was intended to emulate. The frustrating questions it raises about Thanos’ motives, such as “Why not double the world’s resources?” are also directly related to the power of the Reality Stone.

Although it appears that the Reality Stone does not have a direct effect on life, the way it can distort the surrounding circumstances can easily achieve the same ends in an instant. Thanos used the Reality Stone to negate the Guardians’ lethal weaponry, transforming them into harmless substances while emulating the effects of the space stone, trapping Black Widow in a cage of stone pillars. With that in mind, it’s easy to see how the Reality Stone can be an invaluable counterattack to the harmful effects that other stones can cause.

Thor: The Dark World is the main film to explore the Reality Stone. It infects Jane Foster before Malekith uses it during the film. After that, Thanos is the next person to use it, obtaining it from the Collector.

Like many of the stones, it really depends on which one acts first – but while the Time Stone is still usable, it will make all the others obsolete. As Thanos painfully demonstrated following Wanda’s destruction of the Mind Stone, and Vision along with it, going back in time in a localized area is enough to hit the reset button in any situation. The destruction of an entire Infinity Stone is exceptionally important and something the Time Stone undid in mere moments.

Not only that, but Doctor Strange, who had recently become familiar with his new talents as a sorcerer, was able to use the Time Stone to defeat the entity that dominates an entire dimension. The scale of this effect cannot be overstated and leaves many frustrating questions up for debate as to why the Eye of Agamotto could not be used to reverse the effects of many other devastating effects. Many of Thanos’ actions on Titan are perhaps his most egregious.

The very power of control over time was demonstrated most recently at the TVA in Loki Season 1, where Loki witnessed several duplicates of the full set being used as paperweights by the TVA offices, with the TVA’s MO literally grasping authority over time. Loki himself is without a doubt the most powerful entity in the world. The MCU multiverse (for now), sitting on a throne enshrined in the green hue of its magic that is also indicative of the Time Stone. With that in mind, it’s easy to see how control over time is the most powerful of all the abilities offered by the MCU’s Infinity Stones.

The most notable use of the Time Stone in UCM this is when Doctor Strange uses it to fight Dormammu, trapping them in a continuous time loop until he wins. After handing the time stone to Thanos, the mad titan heads to Earth.
